I didn't know that. I though Anibal was pitching tomorrow. This makes me feel a bit better and hopeful if JJ gets into his usual form rather than what we saw Monday.

Most important game of the season, I'd be pissed if they didn't send Jaydge out there

he's certainly not trying to be serious. Why would we expect any different?

MIAMI -- A missed chance and a misplay set up the Marlins' loss in their home opener.

A crowd of 40,666 on Friday night watched Chris Volstad start off strong but labor in the seventh inning, and the Dodgers rallied for a 7-3 victory at Sun Life Stadium.

Volstad tossed six shutout innings, but in the seventh he was charged with three runs (two earned). A two-out error by Hanley Ramirez resulted in two more runs scoring, and the Marlins ended up stumbling after winning two of three against the Mets in New York.

In the first inning, the Marlins stranded Chris Coghlan at third with less than two outs, and they had few other chances off Hiroki Kuroda.

Jorge Cantu snapped the scoreless deadlock in the sixth inning, giving the Marlins their brief lead with an RBI single. Cantu now has an RBI in all four games.

A bid for a second run was taken away when John Baker's soft liner was snared by a leaping Casey Blake at third.

Blake's catch was a turning point. Instead of the Marlins having at least a two-run lead, the Dodgers were down by just one.

Their deficit didn't last long. Manny Ramirez doubled to open the seventh, and he scored on Blake's double. Blake DeWitt added an RBI single, and Volstad was lifted for Clay Hensley. With two outs, and the bases loaded, Reed Johnson tapped a grounder that forced Ramirez into the hole at short to field. Ramirez tried for the force on Rafael Furcal at second, but the throw went into right field. Two runs scored on the error.
Volstad starts strong, but misplay hurts

I told him to pull over and ask somebody if they knew where Beef's house was, but he wouldn't listen.

Volstad pitched well, the team didn't entirely quit; it happens.

                      Fredi on Pinto from today:

The bullpen wouldn't look so bad if: (1) Fredi knew when to pull the plug (2) we didn't use Pinto and Veras every damn day.

Just an observation on Maybin defensively....

For every ball he has received slack for misplaying so far, he makes tough catches look relatively easy because of his speed.

Also, Cody threw a piss rod into 3B tonight from the warning track in RF. I thought it was BC.

I would like to publicly apologize to Festa, it appears he was not the one who was calling me a poopiehead at the Marlins game today.

                              Boo, we lost.
