Look on the bright side, there is a HUGE drop off in talent when you go from Santana to the rest of their rotation.

We suck against Santana, this game would have been hard to win anyway without all the defensive bumbles.

I'd like to be the first to welcome you to SoFlaMarlins.com.

I mean, even the thread title has "Season over" in it.

As dumb as it is to repeatedly post sarcastic crap, it's just as dumb to take anything substantive from this game.

Though I will say JJ seemed like he was right when he said he wasn't ready for opening day. He did not look sharp.

Last time we had an opening day starter finish the season with a sub-5 ERA was 2006, and the opening day starter that year saw his ERA raise 1.25 points

            Just sayin'

The schtick is cute and all, but Maybin may as well have played the game blindfolded while swinging a garden hose. Not good.

Agreed, but atleast it was against Johan (for the most part). If he looks this dumb against the jabronis the Mets will throw out on Wed and Thurs, that would not be for us.

Right, I can get on board with that, I'll even say he took the potential golden sombrero with him to the field causing brain farts, but by the end he was so shaken and playing so shallow he was practically standing on second. Not the kind of start we, or he, need.

I think having an off day tomm is good for them get this shit out of their brains and come out Wed and Thurs and beat up on their shitty SP.. Ricky and Anibal need to bring it as well!

Oh and its only one game! 161 to go. Rather have us start shitty and finish strong than what happened last yr.

Perhaps playing tomorrow would be better to get this shit off their brains rather than having their only game to think about this season still being today's shitfest

God, Maybin was so bad. It was really hard to figure out which part of the game he sucked more at.

Also, great to see Tommy Hutton was in mid-season form already.
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

Ricky and Nate Robertson. Anibal has been kicked to the 5th spot and will start against the DOdgers sometime this weekend.

I like that better I think. Anibal has seen enough of the Mets this spring!

I'm guessing this means just defensively. Gaby impressed me at the plate.

Maybin looked bad in just about every facet of the game you can look something in.
