Miami-Dade Report on Ballpark Construction

Highlights:

-Ballpark is on budget and in some cases additional savings have been identified

LEED Silver Certification:

-Ballpark on track for LEED Silver certification (first retractable roof ballpark in the country to do so)
-Roof of parking garages will have solar panels
-Panels will create 23% in energy savings (15% needed for LEED Silver)
-Water use reduction is 30% and will exceed 40% for the project

Ballpark Art:

-$7.5 million budget
-432 artists submitted proposals for ballpark art
-31 proposals from 18 artists selected by a Professional Advisory Committee

that's interesting, I'm doing my Climate Change topic about mandatory LEED standards. This makes sense b/c many states now require LEED Silver for all public projects.

LEED Silver is going to be the standard for everyone in a decade or so.
