I agree with most of what you say but I doubt Delgado was going to be in Florida very long. He was brought in as a good will gesture while trying to get a stadium on a heavily backloaded contract, so even with a new stadium the chances of him sticking around that offseason werent obscenely high(and as has already been seen, through interviews and such, the FO is already putting failsafes in place to justify not spending more than they currently are even with a new stadium).
