if that's the case i wonder if they see johnson as a possible fix at 3b next year. he's all around average. could be a decent stopgap if he figures out how to get on base a little better.

i do like me some ross seaton though.

max ramirez would be nice to steal somehow from texas, of course being nice to have means we will trade for a slap hitting infielder with a wet noodle for an arm, cant hit, doesnt know how to steal or bunt but has speed

after all speed is all that matters

not to mention the fact johnson may be their opening day option

i'd be happy with that deal but i doubt ed wade is really THAT dumb. don't know why i doubt that, but i do

I also don't buy Uggla to California, either if that time is correct. "should be completed soon 11:53 AM Dec 5th"? He took a physical almost 36 hours ago and nothing has been mentioned since? I don't buy it.

                        Furthering what I said,

"The uncertainty part stinks," Uggla said on Sunday in a phone interview with MLB.com. "It could be exciting. But there is some nervousness because you don't know what's going to happen. But I would like to know where I'll be next year."
There has been speculation that the Giants covet Uggla, and the Marlins are expected to want pitching in return.
Uggla, the only Marlins player to ever hit 30 homers in three straight seasons, hears the rumors, but he doesn't know where he will be in Spring Training.
"I have no idea. You never know in these situations," Uggla said. "There can be a lot of talk with one team and a trade can happen with a team that wasn't in the trade rumors."
[URL=http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20091206&content_id=7764538&vkey=n ews_fla&fext=.jsp&c_id=fla]Uggla, Lindstrom face uncertain future]

Doesn't sound to me like he was taking a physical in California yesterday if he said today that he has no idea where he's going.

Did you read all of that guy's other Tweets? Absolute nonsense, such as Braun getting traded to the Mets because the Brewers were about to sign Holliday.

Affordability is key for any established free agent the Marlins pursue.

According to Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Marlins are among a growing list of teams coveting reliever Matt Capps. The Rangers, Rockies, Cardinals, Cubs and Diamondbacks also are listed as potential suitors.

There are strong indications the Marlins are indeed exploring signing Capps, but cost will be a factor. Non-tendered by Pittsburgh on Saturday, Capps made $2.425 million in 2009. There is a belief that his dollar figure could again be in that neighborhood, or perhaps slightly less. If so, the right-hander could fit into Florida's budget.

The Marlins expressed interest in Capps last season in trade talks. And the team could offer him the opportunity to compete with Leo Nunez for the closer spot.

Upgrading the bullpen is a high priority for the Marlins.

                                Wish this was 2005

We signed both Foppert and James Houser

Should have some nice depth in AAA at least-maybe 1 or the other could help out the ML if need be
