      I do.

He can hit 96-97 on the gun with his fastball and has a nice put-away pitch with that nasty curve.

What do you think we could get for Matt? If we could a B level prospect or better I'd consider it.

I'd like to think I could get a better return than that.

Well Kevin Gregg got us a supposedly healthy Jose Ceda so Lindstrom should get something nice

I agree. I think we should have him setting up next year.
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

The curve's not the answer. He can't put it over for strikes, he's always burying it. Sure, it got whiffs like 40% of the time, but the other 60% were all flat out misses.

The move he made this season to go away from the curve to the slider (something he attributed to Bert Blyleven's coaching during the WBC) seems like a good one. If he can control the zone better, like he did in his stint this year, he could be solid.

One scary bullpen note: he allows a lot of homers. He's a fly ball guy.

                  So is/does Nunez.

I'd like to see them try Vandy as a closer.

                      My point exactly.

To be fair though, Nunez is not as bad as he was this year, and he wasn't as good as he was the year before. But he is a fly ball pitcher with a tendency for home runs. I think he needs to strike out something like 25% of hitters faced to make it worthwhile.

MLB.com's Joe Frisaro has a few Marlins rumblings...

The Marlins are prepared to pay Cody Ross and Jorge Cantu in 2010, although both players will receive raises through arbitration.
Frisaro feels that two of Renyel Pinto, Matt Lindstrom, and Leo Nunez will be traded. All three relievers are eligible for arbitration for the first time.
Frisaro feels that Vladimir Guerrero is not a fit for the Marlins, given his inability to play the field.
                        So bullpen

                        Nunez/Lindstrom
                        Sanches
                        Meyer
                        Badenhop
4th and 5th RHP Battle - RVH, Leroux, Wood, Tucker, MILB FA
2nd LHP Battle - Hunter, Tank, MILB FA

Wildcard is putting Miller/West as 2nd LHP, or Anibal as one of the righthanders with the side effect of just keeping guys in AAA.

Take this for what it's worth but Frisaro reports via Twitter that the Rays are interested in Lindstrom.

Lindstrom good as gone in Miami — 9:56 a.m.

Here is one reliever who is virtually certain to be traded at the winter meetings, if not before:

                            Marlins right-hander Matt Lindstrom.

Of the six teams to express interest in Lindstrom, three have jumped to the forefront in recent days, according to major-league sources.

The Marlins are "close" to trading Lindstorm, one source said, adding that a deal "could happen any day now."

Lindstrom, who turns 30 on Feb. 11, is eligible for salary arbitration for the first time. The Marlins are fairly deep in late-inning relievers. Right-handers Leo Nunez, Renyel Pinto and Tim Wood will return, and left-hander Taylor Tankersley is expected back from elbow surgery. — Ken Rosenthal

I would not call that fairly deep in late-inning relievers.
