  • “If you got some problem, I don’t want you to wait till (bleeping) February and do what you need. You get it done now and move on,” Guillen told The Post and Herald.

“In the past they did stupid (expletive) here. They let him go to Asia to play then have surgery knowing spring training is coming up. It ain’t going to happen again. We worry about more (expletive) off the field than we worry about what happens here.

“Right now what they say if they need time to recover from the old surgery. In my opinion, if this is something they need to get it done, why wait until October to do it?

“I’m not a doctor, I’m not a trainer, I’m not LoMo, but I think that’s best… Do it so you don’t have to deal with it every year. I worry about, those kids are 22, 23 years old, they walk like old ladies. I don’t know if they do the rehab the right way…

“I think the Miami Marlins are more important than the USA team or whatever he was doing… I’m not going to blame anyone, but think about it.”

If you've been watching The Franchise you'd know what I mean.

      Mainge, confirm.
Maybe Heath Bell wouldn't spend the whole night playing on his cell phone and trying too hard to be funny like that annoying kid from elementary school

          • Yeah, I'd way rather spend my dinnertime with Heath Bell.

            • What a nightmare. But I hope this gets him to 1B and out of LF finally.

              • Being that he has been playing with a bad knee basically all season, is it fair to give him somewhat of a pass this year?

                • I think he's going to end up a below average to average 1B so not sure I feel that good about him anyways.

                  • He also has a .248 BABIP.

Other than his age, any reason why?

                        • his age, what he did in his first 2 seasons, he's a lefty

his age is a massive reason why I still think he can have some success

                          • Fair enough. I think his age is still a pretty tremendous plus for him, but there's a lot there to not like (I think you also agree here, but just saying it).

For the most part, I think we'll all kind of agree his future as a upper tier all-star is kind of gone, but a serviceable bat probably can be done if he ever finds a way to spread the ball around. He's way too pull happy for a guy with so-so hand speed.

                            • What I like about Lomo is that he's shown the ability to hit for power, the ability to hit for average, AND the ability to walk in the majors.

He's just never done all 3 at once. If he can put it all together, he's a great hitter.

Unfortunately, the same thing happened in the minors: He showed that he could do all 3, just not all 3 at once.

I wonder if he's having trouble with line up position. When he was awesome OBP machine in 2010, he was hitting #2. Last 2 years, he's mostly hit #3, #4, and #5. Maybe it's a mindset thing of him trying to hit for power numbers because of where he's hitting in the line up.

Lou posted it before and I agree with him: Give him through his first arbitration year (So two more years). At that point, he'll be entering age 27 and getting expensive. If he still hasn't done anything by the, time to cut ties and fold the lies that you've been living in.

                              • After receiving a second opinion from a specialist in Denver, Morrison (right knee inflammation) was told to rest the knee for three weeks before further evaluation, making it doubtful he’ll return this season.
