As some of you may know, I have a Delorean with a flux capacitor. I was able to go into the future and obtain this exclusive SFM.com footage of Hermida playing for the Red Sox:

Jeremy Hermida SUCKS! I dont get why all these Hermida "fans" are coming out of the woodwork now that he has been traded. He doesnt contribute ANYTHING to a team. Nothing! He sucks at hitting, getting on base, baserunning, fielding, and throwing. But now he's JD Drew "in waiting". WTF was he waiting for!

A ballpark that isn't egregiously tough on left-handed hitters?

the marlins would of non tender him anyway, so atleast the marlins got something for jeremy.

Jones provides LHP depth, and could be servicable next year.

I dont like jose though, a wiry lefty with a 88-91mph straight fastball

If a ballpark is an excuse for sucking you dont deserve to be on a major league team

Would have liked to get something better, but kind of shows you how little value he had.

He'll blow up in Boston at some point, but he never would have been anything for us. Good riddance to Hermierda.
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

Oh well. At least I can enjoy Hermida playing for the Sox now if he finally wakes up.

BigGameFish is being silly, but I think those who are acting as though we just couldn't get rid of this Hermida are being silly a well.

The idea that he would just break out next year is hard to believe and it is based on nothing but trying to make us hate this deal. Yeah, we got nothing again for a trade in the offseason. There was nothing to suggest that Hermida will just blow up. Is the idea the same as I feel with Girardi now? We should have kept him so that he'd be stuck here and thus wouldn't have a World Series Ring and at least if Hermida was here he would keep on being a nothing?

So... those pitchers in 90's Colorado, they didn't deserve to be on major league rosters...

Look, I've been a HUGE Hermida supporter over the years, but how many times have we heard this before? We've been waiting for him to "blow up" his entire career. Yes, he had that ridiculous second half in 2007, but he has been mediocre at best since then and was pretty bad beforehand.

So he walks a lot; big deal. That's not going to mean all that much considering his mediocre batting averages will never allow him to have a special OBP. If he could hit for some consistent power, then maybe you could live with that, but he doesn't do that either. Oh, and he's below average in the field.

He might do better in a lineup with more protection around him (a la Boston), but let's face it; he wasn't going to break out here. The kid just doesn't seem to get it. It's not even like he's that young anymore where there is a lot of time for improvement either, as he will be 26 by opening day 2010.

All that said, I still like him and wish him nothing but the best.

Why didn't we trade him for Josh Willingham?

Like I said before; we've been waiting for that kind of season for his entire career, and we haven't gotten it (and again, save the second half of '07). Plus, due to the fact that it looks like Maybin has a firm hold on a starting spot (and I am confident he will succeed; the kid looked very good in September), Hermida really doesn't have a place here if they decide to keep Coghlan in left.
