Man, that 2005 draft really just left us with an embarrassment of great pitching prospects.

Anyone else happen to find the back injury and blessing in disguise? I mean with the big bump in innings pitched he got last season it'll help that he isn't going to throw a ridiculous amount of innings this season. Hopefully he's able to work on that control and keep the ball on the ground some and maybe we'll see him some time after the all star break.

Don't know when we'd really need him. If any of the starters were to get replaced, it would be Robertson but he hasn't been that bad. Our rotation is really pretty solid. Ricky is the only starter with an ERA over 4.5 but that's all because of that start against the White Sox. The only way I could see bringing up another starter is because of injury. Other than that, it's the old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" analogy.

Well, it looks fairly likely that two of our long term starting five will have come from that draft. It's not an embarrassment, but I don't think it's horrible either, especially with the attrition rate of young starters.

don't know if the back got to him or if it was just pitch count but he pitched 1.2 innings allowed 3 hits 2BB and 4K. 59 pitches.

Sounds like he was in trouble in the second before he was pulled.

That's good to see... hopefully he builds off of it. Would love to maybe see him up in the rotation to take NateRob's spot down the stetch if he can keep improving. He showed some flashes last season.
