FG gave Burdick a FV40 and moved to 25th on the Marlins top prospect list.

VVM downgraded to FV40 and moved to 23rd... behind Stewart and Fitterer. That signing is looking pretty terrible.

Rogers still a FV40 (19th overall) and behind Guzman and Holloway. I think Rogers is my only major gripe with their current list. He should be a FV45 and ranked 12-14 overall range. I'm not sure what the concern is unless they are confident he is a RP.

Burdick - Miami has targeted athletes in trades and in the draft and Burdick is one. Though thick and sqaure, Burdick has some twitch to him and is an average runner. But the carrying tool here is the power. Burdick is a strong, right-handed-hitting thumper who was the conference player of the year before Miami took him in the 2019 draft's third round. He had a big first summer in pro ball, slugging over .500 and averaging an exit velocity of 91mph on balls in play. He's playing center but will probably move to a corner. There may be enough power here for Burdick to profile anyway, at least as a platoon option.

This makes me happy. I agree with you on Rogers.

Although I don't know where they got that Burdick has been playing CF. He's been playing pretty much exclusively LF. Scott was manning CF in Clinton before he moved up, and then it's been Misner.

Only silver lining to signing VVM is that his brother is having a very impressive season as a 17-year old in the GCL. I'd even think about starting him in Clinton next year at 18. VVM has been about as bad as you could possibly be.

Scouts were split on VVM following his workout in Miami. I thought the signing was a waste of money because there was no power whatsoever in his bat. At least Miami saved Baltimore the humiliation of signing him.

JD Orr just keeps on chuggin' at Batavia. Seems like he was worthy of higher level competition. Maintaining a .993 OPS without a single homer is amazing.

I am curious about Luis Palacios. Not many innings. Both starts and relief appearances. Through it all, he walks nobody and gives up darn few hits. I'd like to know a lot more about this player.

good to see. He needs to go to the AFL again. Id send him there, then start him in AAA again, and then june/july bring him and Jesus Sanchez up around the same time. To me this year the biggest thing to watch was the development of the pitching, and next year is going to be completely about the hitting. We've done a great job of balancing the farm system from pitching heavy to more balanced and now the next step is seeing just how these guys pan out. It's pretty remarkable how much they have improved this farm system since they took over, but that doesnt mean shit obviously unless they pan out.

Next year should be fun to watch, and im hoping for a year like the cubs in 2014 where they were clearly still rebuilding but you could see a future powerhouse by the end of the year when their prospects started to come up. Thats what im hoping to see towards the end of the year when hopefully we start seeing guys like Jesus Sanchez, Monte, Diaz full time, Sixto, Cabrera, Jazz Chisholm, Lewin Diaz, and the off chance of a september callup for Bleday if he completely lights the world up (although i know lou will respond to this saying they should wait till 2021 for service time.

Ideally we get to 2021 with a lineup of

1b- Diaz
2b- Diaz
SS- Chisholm
3b- Anderson/ maybe rendon?
OF- Bleday
OF- Monte
OF- Jesus Sanchez or Anderson if we sign Rendon
Plus then throw in the other potential OF guys like Brinson, Sierra, Misner, Connor Scott, etc.

SP rotation of (Cole), Sixto, Smith, Cabrera, Lopez, Alcantara, Neidert, Garrett, Rogers, and any other potential guys.

2021 seems like the obvious year here where we could/should expect a legitimate sustainable contender. Plus, given how just about every one of those guys would be making the minimum or entering their first year of arbitration, that team could be incredibly cheap to the point where we can legitimately expect to sign "final piece" type signings.
