Burdick up to Clinton, and what a debut!

Jupiter for the 2nd time in 4 games has used no relievers and just had 2 starters go the whole game. Today it was the two guys just brought up from Clinton Vallimont and Mejia. Vallimont had a bit of a rough go of it, but Mejia was fantastic.

Poteet with a fantastic outing 7 IP 1 hit 11 Ks 1 BB. Time for a AAA call-up.

Speaking of AAA call-ups Dugger with a solid if not spectacular AAA Debut.

Our new first baseman from NC State is also up at Clinton ... and hitting. I can see Jupiter for both he and Burdick next month.
Poteet has been a slow developing project ... who seems to be blossoming as his 25th birthday approaches. The eleven strikeouts today is huge for him. He may turn into Dustin Beggs at New Orleans, but I like his kind of story.
Mejia is moving quickly up the pecking order of young arms.
In the "That's Amazing" category, check out Brinson/Harrison numbers. So much is precisely the same, beginning with New Orleans plate appearances this year. The strikeout rate continues ... raising the question: Will either of these guys have a chance to hit a ML level?

brinson has 17 k's in his last 10, including 5 straight multi K games. do not bring him up until this declines. Diaz needs to be up soon though. On pace for 30+ hr's over the course of a 162 game year.

This is a great problem to have but next year in Clinton u got

                Nasim Nunez
                Osiris
                Dalvy Rosario

All 3 will be 19 and younger

Marlins should figure out who will be 2B,SS,CF by Sept and let them get as much time there as possible. I dont mean they shouldn't play the other spots ever but it would help these kids develop if they had some directions

                Predictions are
                Nunez-SS
                Osiris-2B
Rosario-CF(backup MIF since so many OF)

They could also go each 1 in Jupiter,Clinton and Batavia at SS too

                Jax-Devers
                Jupiter-Rosario
                Clinton-Osiris
                Batavia-Nunez
                GCL-Cappe

Great outing for Braxton Garrett. It shouldn't be much longer before he gets promoted to Jacksonville.

Good to see Pompey back in action too.

It also can't be too much longer until Brinson is back up in the Majors.

Braxton garrett looks like the real deal. He and rogers numbers both have improved significantly as the year has gone on. Our pitching has me unbelievably optimistic for the future, not only for their own individual futures but because we seem to have a surplus that will allow us to either form a really good bullpen or be able to trade from that surplus in a year or 2 for any impact bat we might need.

As someone who has been hard on brinson and his minor league numbers, he looks like he is about ready. Id give him another 2 weeks and then recall him. He's got 8 walks in his past 10 games which is his biggest issue for me. Hopefully he can get the K's down too but he needs to do one or the other, or both ideally. All i know is his numbers arent sustainable once he gets to the big leagues unless the walks and/or K rate is improved. Him and Diaz should be up soon though.

Silviano and Isael Soto RELEASED. Looks like they getting ready for Bleday in Jupiter!!

Soto had talent but injuries and the place where Bats go to Die took him out

He's got 8 walks in his past 10 games which is his biggest issue for me. Hopefully he can get the K's down too but he needs to do one or the other, or both ideally. All i know is his numbers arent sustainable once he gets to the big leagues unless the walks and/or K rate is improved. Him and Diaz should be up soon though.
You absolutely keep him down until July 20th something and deflect his Super2 at this rate.

We want Brinson costing $625,000 for 2020 and 2021 and be able to devote the extra $2 million they'll save in 2021 to anything else.

Garrett with a phenomenal performance last night and Rogers follows it up with an 8 IP, 0 ER, 8 K, 1 BB start of his own. He's now at 2.50 ERA, 80/20 K/BB ratio in 75 IP, and a WHIP of 1.19. He and Garrett will be promoted to AA soon. Our pitching situation is so fucking encouraging right now.

Our AA rotation fairly soon will include Sixto, Cabrera, Garrett, and Rogers.
