    Some interesting goings on:

    Isan Diaz is just waiting for the call.
    Mahan and Brigman basically swapped. Mahan promoted, Brigman demoted. Both had good games. Mahan is one to watch.
    Encarnacion homers in his first game at Jupiter. Good stuff.
    Evan Edwards' stay in Batavia was a short one. 2-4 in his first game at Clinton.

      Mahan is def someone to watch. Plays 2B but could be Corner OF/1B too. Brigman demoted but think it had more to do with him able to play SS(he will prolly be back up)
      Jerar with another OF assist too-think he is at 15 already
      Surprised he moved there and Reynolds demoted. SHould have been Alonso to AA and Edwards to Jupiter

          Monte's BABIP regression is finally happening. .286/.378/.491 and now a .390 BABIP and lowering. He had been over .400 for 2 1/2 months. In 2018 he had a .368 BABIP and 2017 a rough eyeball of a .350 BABIP. This makes sense as (presumably), when he hits it, he hits it hard and he is fast. So, he's probably hitting closer to a true .250 right now and getting a bit lucky.

          But that's totally OK if it translates as a .240-.250 Monte at the MLB level is a beast if he is walking 7% of the time (which he has done for 5 straight years, 2015-2019). That's going to be something like.... a plus defense and base paths Hunter Renfroe (career .246/.299/.523, 6.4% BB, 26.6% K). Renfroe has been a 2.2 WAR player per 600 PA in his career and he has graded out as a poor defender and relatively neutral on the bases. Monte can really add some serious value if he is Pham/Bellinger on the base paths and neutral in the OF. If he is Kepler/Marte defensively, serious business.

          Pretty encouraging this year. But of course, Brinson has smoked AAA over 600 PA over numerous stays so who knows.

          - - - - - - - - - -

          I also just did the Brinson service time math:

          League Calendar is two days - March 20 and 21 (Japan Games)
          185 straight days March 28-Sep 29
          =187 days

          172 days is 1 year of service time

          Brinson has 1.025 to open the year

          He was up March 20/21 and March 28-April 30 = 35 service days
          =1.060

          Historical Super 2 cut offs

          * 2009-10: 2 years, 139 days
          * 2010-11: 2 years, 122 days
          * 2011-12: 2 years, 146 days
          * 2012-13: 2 years, 140 days
          * 2013-14: 2 years, 122 days
          * 2014-15: 2 years, 133 days
          * 2015-16: 2 years, 130 days
          * 2016-17: 2 years, 131 days
          * 2017-18: 2 years, 123 days
          * 2018-19: 2 years, 134 days

          Brinson getting 61 more service days until Sep 29 (which is lower than any deadline last 10 years) is July 30th. Call him up then, he is minimum for 2020 and 2021.

          They can maybe stretch this another week or two as we can all see 4 of the last 5 years it's been 130+ days, so somewhere in the low July 20s makes sense.

          Brinson's doing well in AAA, so might as well pump up his confidence and take the financial benefit. It's basically 1 more month in AAA and save millions if he makes it as a player.

          - - - - - - - - - -

          Gallen will have 101 days of service time to end the season. No issues there. They could have called him up 2-3 weeks earlier, but I suppose that was a decision based on the other 5 SP throwing well. Good to know this isn't even close

          - - - - - - - - - -

          Elisier ended 2018 with 1.000 days.

          He got 9 days in May, 1.009

          And was recalled June 11. If he isn't sent down, he gets 110 days.

          1.119

          No super 2. Good job Marlins.

          - - - - - - - - - -

          Riddle had 1.149 days

          He opened with the club and sent down April 11 = 16 days, 1.165

          Recalled May 31, 121 days. If he's up the whole year....

          2.114 service days. They deflected his Super 2 also.

          - - - - - - - - - -

          Jarlin Garcia - 1.132 to open the year

          17 days in April/May 3 = 1.149

          Recalled 5/15. If he isn't sent down = 137 more days. 23 of those days get him to year 2 of service, and the remaining 114 added on.

          2.114. Same as Riddle.

          Garcia was deflected. They are being pretty strategic and smart here.

          - - - - - - - - - -

          Pablo, Cooper, Brice, Caleb, Tayron, Anderson, Alfaro, Puello, and Steckenrider all aren't Super 2s.

          - - - - - - - - - -

          Which leaves just Richards, who I don't think they can send down due to his solid performance.

          He'll be a Super 2. But that's it.

          All they need to do is keep Brinson down another 30-40 days and they have as clean as books as one could hope.

          I'm going outside for the rest of the weekend now. Promise.

                    Still will be lots of moves but with injuries on ML team/GCL starting/draft picks still unsigned they are holding off

                            Let's gooooo!

                            I don't want to get ahead of myself, but just for comparison's sake.

                            Edward Cabrera's #'s at Jupiter:

                            11 starts 58 IP 2.02 ERA 1 HRA 18 BBs 73 Ks 0.95 WHIP

                            Jose Fernandez's #'s at Jupiter

                            11 starts 55 IP 1.96 ERA 0 HRA 17 BBs 59 Ks 1.00 WHIP

                            Granted, Jose was 2 years younger at Jupiter than Cabrera is now, but still interesting.
