"I didn't know for sure if my name would get called," Lindgren said. "The Marlins gave me a call around 10:30 (Tuesday) night asking some questions, and I felt a little bit better after that.

"I saw (my name) pop up on the tracker, and I kind of just froze for two minutes. ... It's just a dream come true."


Lindgren was teammates with Aeilts at Illinois State. The senior right-hander secured a 5-5 record and 5.96 ERA to go with 69 strikeouts and 25 walks in 83 innings worked this past season, making 14 starts.


"He's been working toward this moment since he was a freshman in high school," Remole said. "Playing, competing and continuing to climb the ladder is always what he wants to do."
