An experienced prospect (age 29) that the Marlins might look to re-acquire: Austin Nola. As a backup catcher, he can also play in the IF. Some speed. And he's also leading his Tacoma AAA team in offensive productivity. He's an Austin Barnes type that learned to catch while with New Orleans a few years ago and has continued to improve. https://www.theolympian.com/sports/a...230154074.html

Nola is not a prospect. And why would he come back to the Marlins?

In sports, a prospect is any player whose rights are owned by a professional team, but who has yet to surpass a threshold where they achieve rookie status (as defined by their respective league), or is not established with the team yet. Prospects can sometimes be assigned to farm teams, or loaned to lower ranked teams.
        Prospect (sports) - Wikipedia
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prospect_(sports)

Why would he come back? Well, because the Marlins could trade for him? Like Brian Schales to MINN for Nick Anderson. Or Michael King to NYY for C Smith and G Cooper.

He's had 94 Good ABs this year, so that definitely outweighs the over 2500 minor league ABs he's had where he's put up on OPS of around .670. Nola's turned into a worldbeater at 29-years old, that's just the way it is.

Why the negativity? What's more important, the way he's learned to hit or how he used to hit? It's all about evolution. Is Zac Gallen's tiny ERA and miniscule WHIP irrelevant because last year he wasn't nearly so good?

Hitters don't learn how to hit at 29-years old. It doesn't happen. It's called he had a good month. A hitter having a good month in his 5th year in that league. Your boy, Isaac Galloway, 29-years old as well, solid numbers at AAA the last couple of years after several very poor statistical years in AAA. (both made it to AAA first in 2015 coincidentally) How has that translated to major league success for Galloway? Zac Gallen's stats this year are not irrelevant. Zac Gallen is a 23-year old prospect who should be still improving and looks like he is. He's getting better while the level he's at for the 2nd straight year has remained the same. Even so, if he pitches all year in AAA he's not going to maintain the 1 ERA and tiny whip, there's statistical anomaly in there as well.

Cody Poteet with a 3.44 ERA in 6 starts Jax. I'd say fast track him to AAA if he has 3 or 4 more solid starts.

Jordan Holloway with a 1.80 ERA in Jupiter. He was a standout in Batavia when he started but has struggled to find consistency since. Part of the benefit of drafting high school guys that he's just 22 years old after all that.

Hopefully this is the start of Victor Victor not looking bad in Jupiter.

Amazing how different Poteet looks from LY. If this was the last FO he would have been released LY for no reason. He probably is AAAA/ML depth type still but nice to see them sticking with guys instead of releasing them for no reason(Twine/Stone/Poteet)

As for VV remember he didnt really play for 2 years and then got hurt

They should draft 3/4 HS SP after Rd 15 every year,u can pay the kid $125,000 and no pressure on them. Under Jeff they never wanted to hand out big bonuses so they took 1 a year but LY the staff showed they are willing to spend. Costs 125K and does NOT count on pool $/rather take the chance on them then 24 yr old RP

Jax is an interesting team to watch. Sierra and Miller are both gonna be 4th OF in majors and seems they have figured out the IF situation. Lately they have been putting 2B-Twine/SS-Brigman/3B-Dunand which is what they would be playing IF they made the majors(Brigman is prolly only ML guy at UT)

Solid arms too who should be in AAA but most are ML RP's in future
