George Soriano is a thing now too.

Soriano was always a thing. TJ wiped a season and half out. Clinton has Soriano/Mejia/Guerrero all with solid arms

Its like Matt Givin,he looked awesome in 2017 and had TJ LY. We have Givin,Andrew Milller,Sam Bordner all coming back from TJ and all have talent

Not sure what happened but Josh Roberson was put on DL. Not sure if hurt or just managing his innings?

      Lukas Schiraldi was released

Marlins are starting to get the "older" arms onto teams now to see if they have anything or not with them

It's probably close to the the time to call up Sierra. He's proven he can handle AA pitching. Given that the Marlins have nobody hitting in the OF, they may as well let Sierra leadoff and get a ton of ABs to see if he can be a ML OF.

Let him succeed for a sustained period. I’d at least wait 6 weeks.

I've always been optimistic he can become something. I've said this for 2 years but i dont understand how the marlins have handled his development last year and how the cardinals handled it in 2017. He showed early in his career as a slap hitter with minimal power he struggles early at a level and then masters as he makes adjustments. I hope he's given the opportunity to develop rather than be rushed. As a slap hitter he needs to master every level before he's back up here. I do think he still has a chance to be something though. If you look at the numbers he's clocked as one of, if not, the fastest guy in the league. It's way to early to make any sweeping conclusions but he has just about doubled his walk rate from AAA and MLB last year albeit at a lower level this year. And his K rate is lower than its been for him at any point since 2014 in rookie ball. His babip is .409 also though so let's see him do it for a few months before jerking him around.

If you look at the stats of the guys on the top 30 mlb list, we have 2 hitters in our top 30 with over a .700 OPS right now: Monte and Devers.

The pitching stats from the guys in the top 30 are impressive as well.

Btw, we done with Thomas Jones yet? Feels like we've had a draft pick like him around the 3rd-10th round every year for like 10 years.

              - - - - - - - - - -

Man Will Banfield has been pretty rough to start the year. Maybe move him down to extended spring for a little. he's 19 all year. Connor Scott also has shown very little since being drafted but he is very young for every level he's been.

              - - - - - - - - - -

Sean Reynolds too. Good god he's been bad. Our hitting stats throughout the organization are scary bad.

Monte Harrison, still K'ing a ton, but the rest of his stats are good so far in AAA.

Monte up to .357 and NOLA bats looking good. Monte,Diaz,Dean,Ramirez,O'Brien-I really hope we trade vets and see what they guys can actually do

Lee's boy Dustin Beggs looking great today in 1st start in AAA. Still think he is Ben Meyer AAAA type however

Thanks for the prop to Beggs. I followed that game, wondering how he would make out. Seven scoreless innings, no W, 7K. Dean 2-4 with yardwork in his first game back at AAA. We could have used that in Miami on this lovely Easter Sunday. Harrison has figured something out or has faced the right pitchers because he is making regular contact.

I like that Trevor Beggs has succeeded at every minor league level but gets forgotten all the time in pitcher rankings. Dude has great command of the strike zone. He's not an ace potential guy because he's got eh stuff but he's another in a long line of current Marlins prospects that could grow into a #3.

                            - - - - - - - - - -

Peter O'Brien is still super frustrating in that he's clearly still got nothing left to prove in AAA but might not also be MLB ready now. He's in dangerous territory of being stuck in that AAAA player territory for life. Some guys break that kind of stigma like Justin Bour did, and other more often examples become Tomas Telis. I hope he's more the former than the latter.

Great to see monte harrison on fire. The walks are super encouraging. Send Brinson down and let them both mash down there for a while.
