What a bummer of a minor league opening day. Thanks for continuing to do this, though gee.

Tristan Pompey is an overlooked prospect IMO. Good size, speed, eye at the plate, a chance to maybe move quickly through the system. Only thing he's lacking is power, but at least he seems to have more power than guys like Brian Miller and Sierra.

Among the younger position prospects, Pompey is easily the best based on his performance over the last year. Some power should emerge, but likely not at Jupiter. I see him getting promoted to AA within a month or two. There is certainly an opening at first base for the Marlins next year, and he's the prime contender.

Once again geemoney thank you for doing this. It's impossible to keep up with every level and you provide data in a really concise way. You are the man.

Good start for Vallimont. 5th round pick last year. He was trash in Batavia to start.

Were gonna end up winning the Ozuna trade. Nice start for Guzman but he’ll never be anything without improving the walk rate

Can't say enough about Gallen performance last night. He dominated what is probably the best AAA lineup out there. That comes on the heels of a super outing vs. the Cardinals in the final spring training game. His primary issue has always been control, but he's obviously harnassed that - all those K's and not a single walk. It's just a couple outings, but I don't care: Gallen has shot to the top of Miami's prospect list (at least mine).

Looking for great starts from Stewart and Beggs tonight. Stewart's line last year showed a lot to like:

              2018 LWD SAL A(Full) 8 1 2.06 20 20 2 2 0 0 113.2 90 29 26 5 3 21 0 90 .218 0.98 2.42

Will Stewart with Walks and HBB tonight. Still went 5+ but command was all over

Beggs was getting rocked before rain delay

Thing to remember is most of these guys already thrown 100+ innings. Lots of arms look like trash until 2nd Year

Would love if they gave Pompey some starts at 1B just to give him experience there. They mentioned it but if he hits and can play 1B he could be in AAA as we have NO 1B in AAA/AA

                    Movement already

Corey Bird up to Jax(FO loves this guy but in reality is Sierra with less bat)
Connor Grant to Jupiter(Clinton biting the young guys already with promotions)

Holloway going today and command isn't great so far

Yamamoto continues to shine. Gallen looks gallant. Stewart start for Jupiter was a hiccup as far as those 4 BB go. In 20 starts last year, he averaged only a single walk per. In the Stone world, those are the top prospects right now.

And who says today is an "off day?" Rogelio Armenteros (16-2 over last two seasons in AAA) goes against the Baby Cakes and ... drumroll ... Ben Meyer! Noon EST start.
