We are with Salt River Rafters

    Miami
    Minnesota
    Arizona
    Colorado
    Washington

Rosters should be out soon but interesting who they paired us with. All 4 teams have interest in JT and we have talked ALOT with all 4 of them over the past year about deals. We were with Milwaukee LY and made big deal with them(Our scouts get long looks at guys on same team)

Id guess Dylan Lee, Monte, Yamamoto, Schales, and maybe Merandy to make up for lost innings due to stupidly promoting him.

Good list of guys. That Ziegler trade is going to work out very well. Eveld is a pure reliever so he wasnt considered a prospect but he is a very good reliever prospect with closer potential.

Eveld and Smith are Future ML Closers. Smith throws 100 and when he is on he is on. His issue is he gets wild and

Brigman will be 2B likely. Team has Kieboom,Rodgers and Chisholm at SS

Harrison needs the reps. Not really sure why Miller is on the team but he is a solid prospect

Probably waiting to add Yamamoto until they make sure he is healthy. He is pitching tonight in Jax and no clue who else but high chance its another arm(Lee/Quijada/Kyle Keller?). Team is full of C and position guys already

Smith is a future Brian Ellington/Tayron Guerrero if he throws as hard as you indicate. absolutely 0 control. wont be a major leaguer unless he severely improves that.

            Eveld is the future closer.

Chad Smith has control. He has games however when he is off and when he is off he is very bad. Positive is its easy to tell when he is off so u can take him out quick

good news and bad news for Monte in the AFL opener. Good news: in 5 AB, he did not strike out! Bad news: in a 10-8 slugfest, he went o-4 with a HBP. 4 infield grounders.
Brian Miller 0-1 with a line drive out and a SB
Brigman played 2B and went 2-4.

Someone tweeted that Harrison managed to break his bat i think 3 or 4 differnt times in that game weirdly.

Harrison 2-4, a couple singles and NO STRIKEOUTS. Popped out to SS with the bases loaded to end the game. Two games is barely a sip from a cup, but emphasis seems to be on putting the ball in play. 8 ab and no whiffs.

While hitters have dominated early AFL games, Yamamoto starred in his first mound action. 3IP and 5 K. Chad Smith and Eveld also had spotless action.

Yamamoto has been spectacular when he's actually healthy since coming to our organization. As long as he stays healthy i really like his potential.

Eveld also is Barraclough 2.0 in terms of us trading a reliever for a minor league reliever with 6 years of team control and might be better than barraclough. I think acquiring potentially great relievers at a value because they are 100% going to be a reliever is a market inefficiency. Doesnt take much to get them and they can be very valuable. I could see him making an impact early next year but I think theyll start him in NOLA.

Also Brigman has already surpassed my expectations. I thought he was a nothing prospect who had inflated numbers prior to the trade due to being in the California league but he looks like he could be a riddle type guy for us moving forward which isnt spectacular but its a huge win for a guy we got for just giving up Maybin

Brian Miller has gone from looking like a potential OF piece to just a 4th OF. His hit tool hasnt translated yet to the upper level talent and he needs to get stronger and develop more power if he's ever going to become something. You can get away with that in the lower minors but not against upper echelon talent.

                            From Baseball America:

Jordan Yamamoto, Marlins -- The righty, acquired from Milwaukee as part of the deal that sent Christian Yelich to the Brewers, whiffed five in three shutout innings against Scottsdale. None of his pitches was overpowering, but he kept hitters off-balance with a low-90s fastball and a pair of breaking balls.

We lead the league in good pitching prospects with non overpowering stuff. Richards, Gallen, Yamamoto, Neidert, Lopez, etc.

Speaking of Gallen, I feel like he doesnt get talked about enough. The WHIP isnt ideal this year, but he struck out over a batter an inning in AAA and I think the WHIP might have been somewhat inflated by being in the PCL given that he had a 1.27 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP in 11 home starts but a 5.84 ERA and 1.7 WHIP on the road. Not all of that can be attributed to the hitting environment, but it definitely played a part.

I hope they start him in AAA again for more development and then call him up in June. If we can get him and Alcantara as long term rotation pieces for Ozuna that trade will look good, especially considering we sold high on him, he regressed back to what he had been his entire career prior to 2017, and we had no chance or intention of re-signing him after this year.
