Monte hit number 19 tonight as well as went over 200 k's on the year. He'll still finish an underwhelming year with 20 hr's and 30 sb's. The talent is there, I hope they give him (and a lot of these other guys) time to master these levels before moving them up next year though. The Ks were obviously horrible this year, but i think he was rushed by the team this year a little given that he started last year in A ball before being promoted and getting just 60 games in A+ ball. Starting him in AA was pretty aggressive and I hope next year he is only up as a september call up. Let him master Jax until May/June and then let him get used to the advanced pitching in AAA and hopefully continue to improve his plate discipline. He stands out to me as a really fucking good prototypical RF if he is developed correctly. Good comp to me is a better clubhouse version of Yasiel Puig.

Brigman keeps hitting even after being moved up a level. Good to see that his jump this year wasn't just because he was in the hitter friendly California League.

Need to find a spot for him in the minors. I think he is a contact 2B in majors who could play SS if needed

This. If he even becomes a JT riddle type guy thats a huge win for us getting him and IFA money for a guy in Maybin who was just taking up a roster spot.

IDK why but we have really pillaged the mariners minor league system dating back a little over a year since the phelps trade. Lopez, Neidert, Torres, Brigman, Dugger all look like big league players. I was down on him in the trade simply because I thought he was a nonprospect who put up big numbers in a huge hitters league, but he has proven me wrong quite quickly. Great depth move for a mediocre free agent to be. That is the type of move smart rebuilding teams make.

He hasnt been talked about much recently, but Gallen's overall numbers are fairly solid over a full year in the PCL. Seems like another guy who has a pretty good chance of being a long term rotation guy. If we end up with Alcantara and Gallen in the rotation for years to come id say we won the Ozuna deal. Long way away from figuring that out though. Sierra needs to be in the minors though.
