8/9 - 8/15 Minor League Game Thread

We have really done a great job in the trades with the Mariners . Got Lopez and Neidert, but Christopher Torres, while young, might be the best player of all of them. Really impressive hitting ability and sneaky power for a SS.

Been a fan of Dustin Beggs since he was drafted. He's getting up in age at this point. Not sure you can call him a future reliever just yet after putting a 2.01 ERA in Jupiter. He could be a future Tom Koehler (guy who keeps outperforming his expectations for a while).

After all the jokes about Twine over the years it would be hilarious if he just decided to be a superstar now. I'll see everybody at the Hall of Fame ceremony.

Dunno if that counts as Neidert getting back on track. He went 8 innings, 1 ER before his mediocre start on August 9th. That strikeout/walk ratio he carries this year is sexy tho.

Neidert's been so good this year, that 1 bad outing is him getting off track.

Twine has an RBI double so far tonight. Pretty amazing run that he's been on since getting to Jupiter. He's been around so long that it's sort of shocking that he's just 22 and 2 years below the league average for the Southern League. Not buying it yet, but it would be a pretty awesome story if he turns himself back into a prospect.
