The Monte Harrison dilemma. When ahead in a count: .327 avg and .507 OBP. 38 W and 25 SO. When behind in a count (as he most often is because he almost always looks at a first pitch strke: .181 BA and .207 OBP. In a nutshell, Monte needs to be ready to hit a first pitch fastball. His productivity will rise when he does. For comparative purposes, Austin Dean hits .347 when ahead and .313 from behind.
Can we get more posts like this. This is a great contribution regarding Monte. (Except please use BB and not W for "walks." I mean seriously man.)
That Monte Harrison information is interesting. .500+ OBP when ahead in the count is impressive. I'd love to see how he changes his approach when down in the count.
Good to see Ryan Lillie slowly getting a rhythm again. He killed it in GBoro last year.
Schales now a 1.087 OPS in August. Sooner or later this guy is gonna get himself noticed. 2020 with Anderson/Schales as the team's 2B/3B starters could be a long term thing.

Peter O'Brien has 4 home runs in his last 3 games. Improved his AAA batting average from .188 to .250 during this stretch.

Lillie and Brady Puckett have done great this year. Also found about 3 RP who could become something
2020 2B/3B is Diaz and BA but Schales has looked like an actual prospect this year and even better is he is only 22. He is a good problem to have in case u wanna move 1 of them off to another spot. He played 2B when they drafted him
He can NOT really hit but a guy who could be a ML player is Micah Brown. Has played 1B/2B/SS/3B/LF/RF
If Micah Brown can start hitting he's got value clearly. He's actually doing better in Jupiter in the 45 ABs he's had so far. Long way to go with him but definitely a guy to keep an eye on at least.
The fact that Diaz/Schales are both 22 and close to the majors is a great thing. Still have years to work with to see what emerges. You'd love to see both guys become future pieces.
Yamamoto is on rehab in GCL. Plan for him is AA then AFL to get more innings
Also Andrew Miller pitched today
Only draft picks who have NOT played this year are Barstad(Injured),Jake Walters(?),Sam Bordner(Injured),Justin Evans(? Only threw 11 innings was everyday SS so probably coaching him up)
Amazing how one of our better prospects can get hurt and not 1 of our beat writers even mention he is gone let alone tell us wtf is wrong with him. Still have not heard why the hell yamamoto was on the DL to begin with. Frisaro, Spencer, and the SS guy are all so terrible.
Just looked at his numbers for the first time all season, but a guy who probably deserves a little time in september is Peter Mooney. He's had a really nice year in Nola.

Someone mentioned it. Shoulder Tendinitis or Bursitis something
Great game for Dunand. He's struggled in AA overall so far, but he's been very good in August.
Screw Dunand someone needs to test Twine for PED's(JKJK). I won't apologize for calling him a crap reach pick or unable to hit until he plays in the AFL but starting to be impressed by him
Ya, the more days that go by the more Twine looks for real, but i need to see it for a MUCH longer time before i let a month of performance outweigh his entire 5 year career or however long its been or being literally one of the worst players in the minors every single year aside from this one.
Been a fan of Dustin Beggs since he was drafted. He's getting up in age at this point. Not sure you can call him a future reliever just yet after putting a 2.01 ERA in Jupiter. He could be a future Tom Koehler (guy who keeps outperforming his expectations for a while).

After all the jokes about Twine over the years it would be hilarious if he just decided to be a superstar now. I'll see everybody at the Hall of Fame ceremony.
Good to see Neidert back on track. Would love to see Pompey and Brigman get some time in AA before the season's over.
Dunno if that counts as Neidert getting back on track. He went 8 innings, 1 ER before his mediocre start on August 9th. That strikeout/walk ratio he carries this year is sexy tho.
