Dean is sixth in BA in the PCL. His overall numbers are remarkably similar to top Dodger prospect Alex Verdugo.

It's just silly at this point that he's not getting at bats for the Marlins yet.

Anderson didn't join the Marlins until September last season. If the Marlins see Dean as next year's left fielder, maybe there are reasons (service time?) for waiting. Also, Ortega seems like a much better 4th OF option than Sierra, Galloway and Braxton Lee.

Just going by his last few starts, but Rogers has to be on an innings limit the rest of the year right? He hasn’t been good but he can still go deeper into games

Per Jon Heyman, Marlins acquired IF Chris Bostick from the Pirates for cash. He was hitting .297 in AAA Indianapolis and also plays the OF.

Good to see Conan O'Brien take time off his TBS show to play the outfield for the Marlins AAA squad.

Hey look Tyler Kolek is alive. Stone Garrett too.

Austin Nola has been in the Marlins system for approximately 800 years now.

The Monte Harrison dilemma. When ahead in a count: .327 avg and .507 OBP. 38 W and 25 SO. When behind in a count (as he most often is because he almost always looks at a first pitch strke: .181 BA and .207 OBP. In a nutshell, Monte needs to be ready to hit a first pitch fastball. His productivity will rise when he does. For comparative purposes, Austin Dean hits .347 when ahead and .313 from behind.

Harrison will be fine. I'd start him in Jax again next year, let him drop the K rate and improve the plate discipline and actually master a level, and then move him to Nola and then call him up August/September of next year. People forget he was rushed by going to Jax to start this year.

The MILB stories of the year (for the sinking Marlins) have taken place at JAX. Austin Dean emerged to become the Southern League POM to start the season with a gigantic OPS. Nobody saw that coming. Equally surprising, Dean continued to hit at New Orleans. Justin Twine, who is destined to be named POM for the Shrimp, represents an equally amazing turnaround. He actually struggled at Jupiter before a call up to AA last month (.630 OPS). Since then, he has basically matched Dean's magical first month (1.051 OPS). In a season marred by accelerating disappointment, these two remain worth watching.

Gonna be fun to hear lee/finsanity talk about how wrong he was when Justin Twine regresses to the mean. Twine is a bad professional baseball player and didnt just magically learn how to hit.
