This is an extreme departure from the Loria years. So extreme, that I'm not sure I'm fully on board with any of them other than Pompey to Jupiter, but I think I'd rather them be over-aggressive than overly conservative.

Jeff Brigham pulling a really impressive 2.54 ERA in New Orleans so far. Seems unlikely to be maintained long term with him allowing a .270 BAA but who knows. He killed it in AA earlier this year.

Didn't even notice Alonso has been in A+ for a bit. Another player who kills Greensboro then dies in the pitcher paradise that is Jupiter. Has taken many victims over the years.

Austin Dean is 11-26 with 7 RBIs over 6 games in August. This is easily the best he's looked in 7 years he's been in the system. Just 24 years old so watch out for him to steal a starting outfield job next year.

Schales/Dean are clearly the feel good stories of the Marlins system. Two guys who have been often overlooked during their half decade in the minors finally putting together noteworthy seasons at important levels. Both now have major league futures when it would've been a bit of a joke to say so this time last year.

The guys going to greensboro have been better than their numbers indicate. Connor Scott's overall numbers arent great but he isn't K'ing a ton, is walking a lot, and has been much better after a bad start. Banfield by all accounts is an incredible defender and his bat will likely always lag behind but he's still been solid with the bat, and Osiris Johnson has hit the best out of all of them and is still incredibly young. Im cool with it just for a taste of what they are to expect for next year. By all accounts we did a phenomenal job in the draft and I think we might have severely improved our hitting prospects.

Austin Dean now has a 1.438 OPS in August. Please give that man a major league opportunity he is red hot right now.

This. The Marlins are struggling to score runs. There's no reason that Dean is in AAA and Isaac Galloway is on the Major League roster.

Also, nice debuts for Scott and Pompey at their new levels.

Can I make the argument against this?

Call him up 21+ days into 2019 and get a year of service time. I'm at the point where I don't personally care about Super2 status anymore, just get the extra year (unlike Brinson).

Oh my point was more in terms of readiness. He's MLB ready. I have no problem with him spending even half of 2019 in AAA given the fact the team isn't even close to trying to contend.

                      Totally agree.

I think the Super 2 deadline is interesting next year for some sort of ceremonial change over. They have 4+ months to further evaluate Urena, Chen, Straily, Ca. Smith, Richards, Pablo, and Alcantara at the MLB level, and if some of them don't stick, that's given them each "enough time" and can get kicked to the bullpen for Neidert, Guzman, Gallen, and Yamamoto as the next wave.

Hopefully this is a good problem. I like their chances of developing 4 long term SP to drop an ace on top in 2020/2021.

George Soriano seems like a solid guy to keep track of. Gonna look for info on him because He numbers are good.

Merandy Gonzalez now 3 straight starts of 7 IP, 1 ER allowed. He's finally getting that consistency back after the front office inexplicably called him up for 7 relief appearances for no discernible reason.

good you point that out. Plenty of time for him to rediscover the Jupiter magic of last season.
