At Heritage, the No. 4 Eagles are headlined by senior Riley Egloff, a Yavapai College commit who routinely brings the heat in the low 90s. The righty mixes in a curveball and changeup as well, and is the son of former Cleveland Indians pitcher Bruce Egloff.

With Egloff, one of the state’s top overall prospects, this spring is likely an extended audition for June’s MLB Draft, where he hopes to be selected in the first five rounds.

“I’m really excited to go to Yavapai, but it really does depend on the whole money situation and draft status,” Egloff said. “School isn’t really my thing so that’s why I chose the JUCO route, because where I want to be in life is pitching in the majors. I feel like Yavapai was the smartest route for that to happen sooner.”
