Trevor Rogers is finally making his debut tonight in Greensboro. Also, Brady Puckett was promoted to Jupiter. He's had a great start to the season in Greensboro.

Nice to see Trevor Rogers is alive!! Man what a difference having a real minor league guy makes. In years past Puckett would be stuck in GBoro all year and be 24 in Jupiter

Ryan McKay threw 2 nice innings today and then was promptly sent back to Ex ST instead of GBoro? Graves pitched and Dunand had a big game-6 HR now in Jupiter

Oh my Rogers is an actual person.

Hopefully Dunand is righting himself. Back to back multi hit games.

Tyler Cloyd hasn't been a good pitcher since 2014. Teams should stop giving him chances.

Brady puckett throws 7 innings in his Jupiter debut. Another SP prospect to look out for. Great start to his season.

Alcantara's start was better than his line suggests. He gave up 1 run through 7, they brought him out for the 8th and he got into a jam...then Severino Gonzalez came in and allowed all 3 runners to score.

Also, Neidert was on his way to another nice start when the game was suspended. He threw 2 scoreless/hit-less innings striking out 3.

Jose Devers has started to hit better in Greensboro (.351 over his last 10 games).

                    Joe Frisaro‏Verified account @JoeFrisaro · 10h10 hours ago

De La Rosa caught my attention for @GoHammerheads in 8th inning. 94-96 fb and mixed in 84 mph slider. Not much messing around. #Marlins Worth keeping an eye on him.

Frisaro is the worst beat writer in the game. FYI De La Rosa is 27 who looks terrible in AA everytime they give him a chance. Only thing we should be watching is to see when he gets released

Another encouraging Alcantara start for many reasons. First he’s consistently going deep into games which was an issue early on, and second he’s not walking many people at all. His numbers last night don’t indicate how he pitched as he hadn’t walked anyone through 7 and the runs that were given up were inherited by Severino Gonzalez and given up by him. I’d give Alcantara 2 more starts then call him up for the remainder of the year

I agree it's an encouraging start, but I'm still leery about the lack of strikeouts. A guy with his stuff should be getting more strikeouts IMO. He's going to need to miss bats at the Major League level.

Agreed on that, but at least the walk rate is down and he is going much deeper into games than he has for most of his career. Still stuff to work on though. No need to bring him up at least for another 2-3 starts and that’s at the very least. With people healthy we at least have a capable major league staff to the point where we don’t need to rush guys like him, Lopez, Gallen, Neidert, etc

Thanks for giving a great update about Alcantara's start 4 hours after fauowls said the exact same thing. You'd think you could read before you post given how few posts there are here daily.

                            See you next year.
