dont think trevor richards is a long term starter, but he 100% at least has earned the chance to come back up here and prove it. DFA cloyd, make chen the long man if we have to keep him, and bring richards into the rotation.

Thomas Jones with a 1.000+ OPS in GBoro in super short time. He wasn't good in rookie or A- ball.
Nick Neidert continues to allow 2 or 3 runs in every start this season.
Monte Harrison needs to be more consistent.
Riddle is hitting really well and running bases aggressively.
Peters on the comeback trail today.
And I hope Brigham is able to pitch again soon after a tremendous start.

AAA observations: Ortega is coming on, certainly surpassing Galloway, Lee, Sierra (and Shuck) as a speed option in the OF. He may be the leadoff guy the Marlins are looking for in the short term. Richards is making an undeniable case for the Marlin rotation. Alcantara stays relentlessly the same. Austin Dean has slowed down some, but should be batting third, not sixth or seventh, for a weak New Orleans lineup. AA: the whiffs for Diaz and Harrison just won't let up. Pablo Lopez getting mentally prepared to become a Marlin starter (Give up a run and you lose!) High A: Joe Dunand .190 over last 10 games, barely above the Brinson Line. 3W and 16 whiffs. Low-A: Lazaro Alonso is maintaining that .400+ BA, looking more and more like our next lumbering first baseman.Last edited by Lee Stone; 05-15-2018, 08:56 AM.

I mentioned this previously but worth repeating that Zac Gallen is most MLB ready pitcher Marlins got in any trade last season. Dude just comes across as having the poise of a 10 year MLB vet.
Didn't even notice Sam Perez made the jump from Batavia straight to Jupiter this year. Good for him. Team initially took it slow with him but he's definitely a player in the prospect game.
Still absolutely amazed that Brian Miller is batting .325 in Jupiter. The only other Marlins hitter I can remember doing this well their first time around in Jupiter was Christian Yelich.
It is definitely frustrating that for a team with only 2 real hitters so far this year (Realmuto/Castro), the team is clearly wasting J.T. Riddle in AAA.

Sure, Rojas has been fine at SS this year, but that doesn't mean he has to play every day. Platooning Rojas and Riddle makes a ton of sense and would make the bench better. JT is clearly healthy at this point and doesn't have anything left to gain being in AAA.
