called it again. diaz might be our top prospect by the end of the year. position combined with ability is unreal. He's been unbelievable since a 1 week adjustment period to start the year.

So Guenther has pitched 5 innings 2 ER and 6 innings 1 ER his last two starts. Might finally be figuring it out.

Aaron Knapp .837 OPS in GBoro. Not one of our top guys by a long shot but he's showing improvement from last year.

We were doing good with old guys in lower levels until last night

Cade Gotta is an 26 yr old OF who was in AAA LY wish we would just move Soto/Knapp or Sullivan back up instead. They also moved up Bubba Hollins to Jupiter

I really dont get why Chris Torres isnt playing on any of these teams. Id understand playing him at SS in Greensboro over Devers if the choice is between the 2 of them. Devers is 18 and Torres is 20

It's so easy to forget with all the offseason trade offs that Pablo Lopez was part of the first deal in a long time that the Marlins made right to fix the future of the franchise. Lopez was incredibly young (21 years old) and at his lowest value after a horrible season in A ball. He was always a much better pitcher than those numbers showed, and it was one of the few times the Marlins front office actually correctly diagnosed that. Trading Phelps for him was a perfect 'Grab underrated value and trade away your own value at its highest' kind of trade.

Yes it's gonna take far more time than 2 AA starts to call him a major leaguer, but Lopez is the kind of trade moves that put teams back in playoff contention consistently.

Dustin Beggs got screwed more than anybody with all the trade moves for minor leaguers this offseason. He's a guy who should definitely be pitching in A+ ball this year but isn't even starting in Greensboro anymore. At 24 years old he's losing time relatively fast.

It wasnt even that bad of a year for him. That league where he put the era up around 5 is the best hitters league in the minors. Its absurd how difficult it is to pitch in that league, and his peripherals were still really encouraging despite the inflated ERA . He had a 5.06 ERA, but just a 1.26 WHIP and a solid 89/13 K/BB ratio in 100 IP. Fangraphs had his FIP that year at 3.36 which indicates how tough that league is to pitch in and how his numbers actually were. He looks like an innings eater who throws strikes and those are my favorite kinds of pitchers aside from guys who are just aces, obviously.

And yes, since the beginning of last year when it was obvious loria was about to sell the team and im sure stopped telling the FO what to do, we have made great trade after great trade. Getting anything for Hech was a plus, the phelps trade was great, the ramos trade looks promising if Merandy can continue to develop, our draft from last year looks great thus far, and i think the trades from the offseason all look pretty good thus far.

ah ok, that makes a little more sense then. our beat writers are so bad. Especially given that we are in a full on rebuild, the fact that its almost impossible to find out info on why guys arent playing yet is ridiculous.

Torres and Brayan Hernandez were/are hurt. Wouldn't be surprised if Torres just goes to Jupiter and they promote Dunand to Jax

Had never heard of Lazaro Alonso. Cuban dude was apparently signed last year. Played a Batavia nothing special but walked quite a bit and was his first real game action in a long time. 23 right now but had some decent atas in Cuban league at 19. So a guy to kinda keep an eye on.

Easy to forget Sam Perez in the group but he's pitching well in Jupiter so far (1.64 ERA). Never been a strikeout pitcher tho.

Also Cody Poteet has Tom Koehler potential as a random long term starter down the line. Don't know if that's good or not but he's a guy I could see in the show.

Should take me off your ignore list-been talking about him for 2 years. Was solid LY in Batavia(didnt play for 2 years because he defected).

Poteet and Perez are Long Relief types

Bigger news is Gallen looked solid again and Jorge Guzman is finally in Jupiter-was hitting 99/100 whole game
