Daniel Castano's amazing turnaround: Started year by getting lit up at Jupiter (22 walks in 57 innings among his lowlights). More recently, in five starts at Greensboro, he's walked 0 in 32 innings (5 starts).

MLB has implemented some changes to their international signing rules and regulations, and Ben Badler of Baseball America is right on top of it with the details. Among the most notable rule changes are 1) that amateur players will now be allowed to enter team facilities earlier, specifically 18 months before they become eligible to sign,
Teams were coming to "agreements" with kids and then sending them back to the trainers. Looks like now once u commit to a team they will let the kids stay around for a few days and let them see the complex/give them a plan
One reason why we did make a splash in IFA this year and likely next is most trainers come to agreements with teamsLast edited by tjfla; 08-18-2018, 11:20 AM.

This will help us starting in 2020/2021 when guys who aren't already "committed" are ready. Nice new academy!!!
• Marlins chief executive officer Derek Jeter said the organization has made a priority to be more active in the international free agent market.
"It's a priority for us," Jeter said. "We've acquired some international money through trades and we'll continue to do that. That's a big area of growth for us as an organization. We'll be making some changes to our academy down in the Dominican Republic, and we're going to build a new academy down there, so we're going to invest a lot in our international market."

He is the kid Atlanta "signed" early and got them all fired. However Oakland already has a commitment from him for 5 million
The Top 50 Lists usually come out April/May and we might be players on a few but more likely 2020 is 1st BIG year for us. Reason is most trainers have already given teams commitments on guys for 2019 and not cause we don't want them
Watch for us to look at Cubans again in 2019Last edited by tjfla; 11-01-2018, 11:02 AM.

Miami has like 300K left and can add 2 million still for 2018. 5 Million for 2019 if he waits BUT Baltimore has like 5 million left for 2018
Cuban SS Yolbert Sanchez(22) can sign starting 2/5. Hech type who Fangraphs says could get 2-4 million

These are the types of guys(Cubans) that Denbo is looking for until 2020. If he WANTS to be in Miami maybe he waits a little while? Try to get IFA cash in JT/Straily deals and get a AA SS?
Highly Unlikely we get him however unless he wants to be here. Doubt a 22 year old who hasn't played in awhile waits 4 months for no reasonLast edited by tjfla; 01-23-2019, 09:00 AM.
