Hey Pablo Lopez is still killing it in Jupiter. Really seems like that Phelps trade is gonna pay dividends down the line.

Nice to see King rebound after his last start. Still having himself a fine season in GBoro.

Brady Puckett is interesting. I think he'll get a shot in the GBoro rotation at some point next season.

Braxton Lee batting .320 this month in AA. He was acquired in the Hechavarria trade. Given he's now 100+ games into AA he should reach NOLA soon.

Why are the marlins the way that they are? their pitching development strategy is horrific, and does nothing to develop pitchers or prevent injuries. Merandy Gonzalez before he came over here was going 6-7 innings consistently and he comes over here and he has only pitched 5, 5.1, and 4 innings. And its not like he was being hit around, he's got a 1.26 ERA in his time in Jupiter so far. You'd think they would realize this ridiculously cautious approach that theyve had has not developed pitchers or prevented injury.

Gonzalez is already at 120 innings this year, by far a career high. I have no problem with them cutting him back some the rest of the way.

I understand that somewhat, but why curb innings simply to curb innings. Push young pitchers. Im not saying have him throw 120 pitches every game, but if there are no signs of struggle, and there have been very few, let the kid pitch and build arm strength. It's not as if this cautious approach has led to injury prevention, every top pitching prospect we have has been babied like this and have still needed tommy john surgery, on top of not being able to go deep into games or seasons once theyve gotten to the major league level, if they ever have.

This. They aren't looking to throw guys 160 innings for no reason. The point of Merandy Gonzalez is to have another option for the MLB rotation in 2019 not to throw him 160 innings hurt his arm and sit out till 2019

The minor league season is pretty much over now. Goals are make sure no one else gets hurt and see who will be staying in the system for next year

Braxton Lee is going to the AFL so no point in rushing him.

I like Brady Puckett as well but that GBoro rotation already is loaded without Puckett or Givin.

Likely Rotations 2018 *Means should be but who the hell knows

            Jax-Ben Meyer,Merandy Gonzalez,Pablo Lopez,Cody Poteet,James Buckelew/Jeff Brigham*
            Jupiter-Mike King,Dustin Beggs,Ethan Clark,Brandon Miller,Tyler Kolek*/Gabe Castellanos*
            Gboro-Sean Guenther,Trevor Rogers,Alejandro Mateo,Ryan Lillie,Edward Cabrera,Could SP or RP-Taylor Braley/Colton Hock/Remey Reed/Sam Perez

            EX ST-Brady Puckett,Brett Lilek,Braxton Garrett,Josh Roberson,Jordon Holloway,Matt Givin,Dakota Bennett,Alberto Guerrero,Hunter Wells,Humberto Mejia,Luis Mojica ALL SP who are hurt or drafted this year

Without all the injuries we actually have alot of depth in the system and the DSL has about 10-15 guys(Rodriguez,Espinal,Lebron,Paulino,Caballero,Ma rinez,Borges,Villalobos,Rodriguez,Palacios, few older arms and 2 catchers) who could be moved up next year

How did babying Kolek his first year go? How did not pushing Braxton Garrett go? How did constantly babying Jose Fernandez in his development go? The fact that we still go with innings limits instead of pitching counts is stupid in and of itself, but this idea of babying guys has not only hurt their own development, but also inevitably led to injuries anyway as well as guys who arent prepared to pitch every 5th day for 162 games when they come up.

Babying Kolek?? He threw 22 innings his first year after throwing in HS. How many innings u want him to throw 200??

Also they do pitch counts as well. For example Pablo Lopez threw 85 pitches in 5 innings last night. Inning limits are for the end of the season. EVERY TEAM does this especially if a guy is going to the AFL OR has doubled their high. Before this year MErandy Gonzalez's highest innings for a year was 69 so this year he gets 125 and next he is up around 150-160 in AA

Richards with his first really terrible start of the season.

Looks like they are pitching Merandy Gonzalez in relief (4 innings at a time) to limit his work. He's still pitching great in Jupiter with a sub 1 ERA.

Same question for Braxton Lee in Jupiter. Also, I think brian anderson might be hurt. Hes played just one game since 8/14.

Same question for Braxton Lee in Jupiter. Also, I think brian anderson might be hurt. Hes played just one game since 8/14.
Ya they are all to old for the league!!

Actually Anderson has a concussion and the minor league seasons are over in 10 days so no guys will be moving anywhere unless needed. Most guys are packing up and getting ready to head to Extended ST/AFL

Only reason Brian Miller is even still playing is because GBoro is fighting for the 2nd Half Title,if they were crap he would have already been shut down. As for Braxton Lee,he is going to the AFL and Jax is also fight for the 2nd Half Title

U realize most of these college guys have been playing since Jan right?? Why do u think they only throw 3 innings a game or don't play daily? They are worn out!!!

If GBoro wasn't 1GB for the 2nd Half Title Brian Miller would have already been put on the DL and relaxing till Extended ST. WTF are u talking about when u ask Why is Brian Miller in Greensboro? What do u think he is gonna be on the ML team next year or something? He is in Greensboro because they are fighting for a title and next year he will start in Jupiter. Its like when u say guy X only threw 20 innings-ya he did for US but he might have already throw 80 in college or HS. So total he has 100 innings this year on his arm

Before u ask stupid questions do some research or atleast ask a janitor!!!

So to answer your question the reason Brian Miller is in Greensboro is because #1 Greensboro is fighting for a title while Jupiter sucks and #2 no reason to push him he has already 500AB's in 2017. Let's move him up to Jupiter for 10 days for no reason. Why?? Well Rays16 thinks he should be up and Braxton Lee? Well Rays16 wants him up in NOLA. Why when we are fighting for a title and he will see alot better pitching in the AFL?
