Minor League Transactions for the Marlins from the 18th-28, c/o Baseball America:

-OF Chris Parmelee was signed after recently being released by the A's. He has compiled 917 major league at-bats, also playing 1B. He was hitting just .199 with 5 homers for Oakland's AAA affiliate when he was released. He's in AAA New Orleans.

-RHP Eric Alonzo was released. He had pitched for Jax and Jupiter this year, registering a 1.21 ERA in 14 games across two levels.

Another good start from Richards. He doesn't have much left to prove in AA. I'd so much rather he or Peters be up here starting than Worley.

I think Peters should get another month in AA at least and then give him a few starts in September up here, but Richards should be promoted at the very least to AAA immediately.

Not sure they call up Peters. Plan has been to get his missed innings in AFL.

What is the point of calling them up? Get innings in minors and next year let them battle for rotation spots. If they win spots then u add them and if not u send then back down. This is the problem we have had in the past-we add guys to the 40 man when no need to and burn an option year(See Brad Hand/Jose Urena) for no reason other than pitch 1 or 2 games. I know finishing 2nd in the East means more to fans than 4th in the East but in reality this team will be lucky to be .500
