It would be super tight if we could see our 7th overall pick from nearly a year ago in a professional game at this point. Epsecially for a "fast riser."

Definitely. Also at 25 years old it's put up or shut up time. Either he breaks out and can earn a long term opportunity on the major league bench or he becomes a quad A guy.

Tomshaw having a great season in AA so far (1.82 ERA). Seems to be hitting his stride as of late. If he could become a Tom Koehler type that would be really nice for Miami, although Koehler was called up before 28 years old.

Brian Anderson with his 4th multi-hit game in his last 7. He's been pretty consistent so far. Needs to hit that big burst at some point and get his OPS over .800. Team needs him to grow as a hitting prospect because it's tough roads outside of him.

It should come in a day or two.

Our 2017 1st Rd pick might before him . Guys we like are Seth Romero,DL Hall,Trevor Rodgers(No surprise all are LHP) and Austin Beck HS OF however knowing us we will look for a deal and then draft guys who will sign for slot instead of using cash

If we keep our S1 pick it looks like we might try to save some cash and go for a C like MJ Melendez or Mike Rivera from Florida. Melendez is from South FL and can hit while Rivera would be cheaper and move fast but his ceiling is Rene Rivera. Totally defense/Backup C. A guy who maybe around at S1 if we decide to spend the slot is LHP Jacob Heatherly(Has been called Braxton Garrett Lite)

Our Minor League Player of the Month is Aaron Knapp

                  http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp...tting/2017/ALL

4th OF at best if he makes it up in a few years BUT just goes to show u what happens when u draft baseball players instead of guys who play baseball. Hopefully that keeps up this year instead of projects and crossing fingers

I legit dont try to sound hyperbolic, but is there precedent for a top 10 pick who signed not playing in a professional game a full year after he was drafted without having an injury? Let alone someone who was drafted not based on potential but based on being a fast riser? This is fucking absurd.

Surprised a bit that I overlooked Knapp but that's probably because 1. The Marlins hitting prospects are so thin 2. His value has been primarily through patience at the plate.

A bit disappointing that he's a 4 year college prospect and not doing this as a 19 year old, but hey I'll take what I can get.

Also another solid start from Beggs. ERA is gonna stay amazing because of those unearned runs but again I'll take it. Given that he's gone 6+ IP or more with 1 ER or less each of his last four starts, he seems like a guy to follow (but Beggs has benefited a ton from unearned runs. ERA jumps from 1.3 to 2.8 if you count his unearned runs as earned). The low strikeout count is likely a long term concern though. Interested to know what his fly ball/ground out ratio is.

Anderson with another hr today. Might have had 2 but i think the first one from the first game of their doubleheader was from a different day. Either way, great to see him showing some power. Not asking him to be a super prospect, but we need him to become some sort of major league impact guy. Our hitters are so bad in the system.

Also, WTF happened to Nicolino? He obviously never had K stuff since he came over here, but at least he didnt walk very many guys before. in 2013 he had 30 BB's in 142 innings between Jupiter and Jax. In 2014 he had 20 BB's in 170 innings in jax. Wasnt terrible in Nola/MIA in 2015 with 49 BB's in like 180 innings. but this year his bb/9 is much higher than it has ever been in his career in his 3rd straight year in NOLA.

Rays16 see if u can to Gboro tommorrow- Braxton Garrett makes his debut

                              http://www.baseballamerica.com/minor...imVVtm8d8Zp.97

Garrett has been working in extended spring training on getting better at pitching out of the stretch as well as throwing his changeup more often and with more command.
