Looks like movement is finally happening!!

Gboro got like 4 new guys including 3B James Nelson(could be the breakout prospect this year) however no clue where anyone else is going because Jax and Jupiter just got bunch of 28 yr olds on the teams

The 25 year old non prospects on these teams is something that bothers me a lot. Obviously every minor league team generally has a few of those, but we have so many of those guys that it's pathetic. I wouldnt have such a problem with it, but it seems like we move other guys super slow because they are "blocked" by these 26 year old non prospects in A+ ball. Im all for aggression with prospects generally.

The fact that we drafted Braxton Garrett as a fast moving pitcher and he likely wont make his debut until right around a full year after the day he got drafted is kind of insanity.

Let me preface this by saying I understand he's old for the level he's at.

That said the Marlins might've found a good find in Felipe Gonzalez. He's had a looooong road to where he's at. Signed at 16 by the Yankees in 2008. Took 6 (!!) seasons of Rookie ball before a team gave him a chance in A ball in 2014. He did solid as a mostly reliever. Continued to be a solid (not outstanding though but definitely solid) in A+ ball in 2015. Got a true shot at AA, bombed in just a few starts, never regained his confidence back the rest of the season and had horrid numbers. Now he's back in A+ ball in Jupiter here, and he's pitching well again. His K/BB numbers are nice through his career. If Gonzalez ever becomes something he won't even sniff the majors until 2020 (when he'll be 28 years old), but in terms of investment he seems to be a nice rebound attempt to put out there.

Tomas Telis has six multi hit games already. Unfortunately long term for him he has absolutely no power, so his ceiling is most certainly limited. If he can walk some tho he's got a future career in the majors.

Do we have anyone who is performing well and isnt at the very least relatively old for the level they are at? Serious question.

And I'm very pro Telis. Idc about his power because he will either be a backup catcher type where he isnt expected to hit for huge power or, where he should be, as the platoon guy vs lefties with Bour. Or he should just be up here regardless. He can hit lefties very well and why the hell did we acquire him for a quality reliever (although you wouldnt know that this year) if he is going to come here and do exactly what we already knew he could do and never get a chance to play at the big league level.

Eh Telis doesn't have a spot. 99% of catching staff's feature a veteran and AJ Ellis fits the mold and is a backup with starting experience. They'll keep him in AAA until July and maybe see what his value is then.

The team isn't going to put him in the 40 man roster, so I see Telis as a guy who would get grabbed in the Rule V Draft quickly.

Wait, he's not even on our 40 man? Are you sure of that? Cause he played in the bigs last year, wouldnt that mean we would have had to designate him for assignment between last season and this season? I'm pretty sure he is on our 40 man already.

Ya he's already on our 40, but point taken about seeing where his value is in July. Just seems like a guy who has a bat that could be useful and we gave up a pretty good asset for him, but whatever.

Among the moves made to make room for the newbies in Greensboro: Justin Twine was placed on the DL, and Dalton Wheat and Rony Cabrera were sent to extended spring training.

Michael King has pitched 19 innings and allowed 1 run to begin his career. Not to mention 26 K's to 3 BB's. Hard to start better than he's done. Reminder that he was our team's 12th round pick this past draft.

Trevor Richards now 3 starts in, combined 15 2/3 IP without an ER allowed.

Also wow did Jupiter just hit that game.

Disappointed to see Wheat taken out of GBoro. He was a decently hyped independent league guy.

Surprised they even kept Justin Twine. Just release the guy already. Does he need 4 more years to prove he is a complete loser of a ball player? He is 21, with 3 consecutive years in greensboro at this point, with a career .268, .317, .585 split in his career. The .585 is a career OPS out of a guy you drafted in the 2nd round. the fuck are you DL'ing him for? Send him to bank of america or some other place his future career will help. Quit delaying the inevitable. 296/37 K/BB ration for a 2nd round pick. Great work scouting team. Please do spend just a little bit of time scouting players for a small market team. Our results couldnt be any worse. What a loser of an organization this is under Loria and the current front office.

Lay off Twine,atleast he made it to GBoro. Blake Anderson who we took insetead of JJ Schwarz in the Supplemental Rd1 can't even make it out of Rookie ball!!!

He will be gone next year-normal early rd multi sport project who is massive bust. I like the Big Hurt but us drafting him was terrible for scouting. Jeff wants to find guys just like him instead of taking older actual baseball players

The whole farm system is weird from AA down

Telis is the 3rd Catcher and is on the 40 man but at this point is just incase. Actually wouldn't be surprised if Ellis got hurt if u see Ramon Cabrera up instead,Mattingly likes his backup to be ALL defense

just random observation when looking at Moncada's stats on milb.com: Chris Volstad is still pitching for a living. In AAA for the White Sox. That seems like 25 years ago he was here.

There should be a 30 for 30 in the future on how the marlins managed to have 5 or 6 first round picks in I believe 2005 and did not hit on one of them. That is incredible.
