Wait till next year and they will have the record. Added NOTHING to the team and will be losing about 5-8 bats. They would have had the record this year BUT they added 2 or 3 pitchers from other DSL teams that were already 21/22 and they looked good against 17 yr olds

BA had a nice rundown of what we have done with our IFA Cap Money

The Marlins have a reputation for not being big spenders on the international market—well not since they signed a 16-year-old Venezuelan shortstop named Miguel Cabrera for $1.9 million in 1999. In fact, the organization has traded away international money in each of the four years of the current bonus-pool system, which penalizes teams for overspending their allotments. A review of where that $2,377,600 in bonus money went:

      • This year the Marlins parted with $725,400 of international pool money in their August trade to acquire Jeff Francoeur, a part-time right fielder who will be a free agent in November.

      • In 2015 Miami traded $454,400 of international pool money to the Rays for low Class A righthander Enderson Franco, who they subsequently lost to the Braves in the minor league Rule 5 draft that December.

      • In 2014 the Marlins traded $1,000,800 of international pool money to the Rays for Double-A righthander Matt Ramsey, a reliever who missed all of 2015 with a back injury and then lost his spot on the 40-man roster.

      • In 2013 the Marlins bundled $197,000 in international pool money with Ricky Nolasco when they traded the veteran to the Dodgers for righthanders Steve Ames, Angel Sanchez and Josh Wall. Not one of the trio remains in the organization, and only Ames pitched for the big league club (four relief innings).
