Just a couple minor league transactions by the Marlins last week:

    - C Juan Gomes was released after being recently signed by the Marlins organization. He appeared in just three games at the GCL level for the Fish, going 1-5 with an RBI.

    - P Isaac Gil was signed out of the independent Frontier League. A 31st round pick by Tampa in 2011, Gil had a combined 8.38 ERA between two teams and 23 games this season. He's currently in single-A Greensboro.

I honestly don't think we have one future major league bat in our system currently, except for anything lower than Greensboro which I dont really know any of the guys yet (Batavia and lower). Obviously we know our system is bad, but that's hard to do. We have a little pitching but man our hitting is abysmal. We really gotta load up on 24 year old seniors next year to retool the system.

Depends on your definition of major league bat.

Riddle will be a major league player, for sure.

Not really sure how you can say that, he's been the oldest player everywhere he's been and he can't hit. Maybe a miguel rojas type role this year but not sure how you can say he will be a major leaguer for sure.

This. JT Riddle,Yefri Perez,Austin Dean and Brian Anderson will all be on the ML team at some point. We have ML guys the issue is none of them are stars all are role players

                      Riddle UT,Perez/Dean 4th OF,Anderson 3B(eventually)Steckenrider,Ramsey,Brice RP

Of course maybe fish16's cousin Tomas Telis too

being on a major league squad is different than being a major leaguer. maybe i should have said i don't see any guys in our system capable of being big league starters in a case other than being forced to start because we don't have someone capable of starting.

Dean might be an OK 4th OF. Anderson and Riddle don't hit enough to every start.

That's why they dont mind trading prospects beside 3B u really don't need anyone anytime soon. If an OF gets hurt u just move DD to LF. Hech gets hurt u got Rojas

I'm very interested to see if they look into trading Ozuna again this offseason for a starter. He's one of the few guys in the lineup who both have value and haven't been extended yet. But yes i agree. Although I don't think Dietrich will be here next year either. We're gonna have to do something to get a starter.
