I mean he totally rebuilt Gerrit Cole after they drafted him, so it's not out of the question. All I'm saying

Yeah probably. Shocker. A first round pick of ours throws 15 innings and then gets injured.
We suck at drafting so much

2 options- Tyler Kolek route(TJ surgery and pitches in GCL August of 2018) or Chen route(Rest and every year u maybe get 6 starts until his arm hurts and has to rest again)

This is why we need to stop babying these guys. H ow many times do we have to treat our pitchers like they are 7 year olds? Theyve done it to how many different guys now where theyve treated them like they shouldnt ever throw or push themselves and then they end up needing TJ surgery anyway? Kolek, Garrett, Jose, Heaney, Paddack, plus others. Let these guys pitch, push them, and if they end up needing TJ surgery so be it. But the way they are treating them now not only are thse guys not staying healthy, but even if they do stay healthy all the way up the minor league system they baby them so much that by the time they are in the major league rotation they have to baby them for 1-2 years on severe innings limits because theyve never been pushed to anywhere near 200 innings. Everything about this teams player development process, specifically pitchers, is absolutely mindnumbingly stupid.

Just about every pitcher gets TJ surgery these days. Garrett is just getting it out of the way early.
These pitchers are throwing more and more innings at a younger age. Teams can be as careful as they want but arm trouble is just a part of the game now.
