Brian Anderson with a multi hit game in five of his last seven. Numbers this year mirror the stats he was putting up in GBoro two years ago. Such a big turnaround from last season.

Jeff Brigham is doing awful this year. 7.71 ERA in seven starts. He had a 1.87 ERA in around the same IP in Jupiter to end last season. He's doing basically the same thing but all the singles he allowed last year have become XBH.

Since his first appearance in New Orleans where he allowed 2 ER, Wittgren hasn't allowed a single run in 8 straight appearances.

I don't know why C.J. Robinson is in GBoro. He reached as far as Jax last season and held his own in Jupiter and he gets rewarded by getting sent back to square one. Seems harmful to the development of somebody who could've been a major league bullpen arm in two years.

The whole system is whacky. It doesn't help when they sign 27 yr old depth signings which pushes everyone down a level(Robinson/Holmes) but also doesn't help when Gboro and Jupiter have like 20 arms on the DL(Most have been it long term as well).

But like DelPiano has said in every interview,they have a set plan for each guy

I don't think I can say enough that Dillon Peters is our stand out prospect this season. 2.06 ERA, 36 K's to 4 BB's. He's also throwing less pitches while going more innings, just getting better as the season goes on. I wanna see what this guy can do in Jax.

Brian Anderson now at an .896 OPS.

Austin Dean had been on a bit of a cold streak the last week so good to see him back on track.

Tomas Telis with an .883 OPS in New Orleans. A bit unfortunate for him that Realmuto is doing well in the majors this year and the Marlins still love Mathis. If the team is competitive going into the All Star Break, I have to imagine Telis becomes the best trade piece the Marlins can dangle to teams in return for either a starting pitcher or a closer.

Austin Brice now with a 1.99 ERA in Jax. He has allowed 1 run or less in 7 of his 9 starts, and once you take away the start he allowed 5 ER, his ERA becomes 1.21 (although we have to add he has 5 unearned runs on his record). I know I jokingly called him minor league Ricky Nolasco before, but really looking at what he's done this year he's been incredibly consistent (unlike Nolasco). He's the best pitching prospect and arguably best overall prospect in our system and is progressing far better than hoped. If all goes well Brice and Peters can be big pieces in turning our farm system into a respectable one again.

Luis Castillo continues to succeed as a starter. 2.22 ERA in Jupiter, 36 strikeouts to 5 walks. I'd say a case of being in Jupiter but he did well in Greensboro last year too. Definitely a guy that belongs in the top 10 list of Marlins prospects.

Stone Garrett with an .857 OPS in May after a .467 OPS in April with an injury problem, so a quick look at his numbers may be misleading.

Oh hey look Steven Farnsworth another reliever turned starter. ERA under 1 in Batavia last season as a reliever, 2.25 ERA so far in 16 IP as a starter.

Add another arm to the RP turned SP list-Buckelew went 5 innings last night.

With Brice,it is all about command. When he doesn't walk guys,he looks great.They tried him out as a closer/RP in the AFL to see if him being a power 1 inning type would work(mixed results). Looks like tho he could be a David Phelps -guy who could start and if that doesn't work out always be a effective setup man

By way didnt realize CJ Robinson just turned 23. Wish they would promote him to Jupiter but least he isnt 25

- Former Marlin IF Ed Lucas was signed to a minor league deal by the Diamondbacks. He had been released by the M's organization on May 17.

A bunch of (international?) signings, of which I can find little on these guys:

- RHP Raul Brito, RHP Edgar Martinez, RHP Daury Pimentel, SS Alexander Rodriguez.
- OF Ronnie Mitchell was signed after being waived by the Astros earlier in the year. He had 33 at-bats in AA this year, hitting .121 in the process.

- Released were LHP Sean Townsley and OF Ryan Aper. Townsley was a 25th round pick in 2013. He was 3-9 with a 4.73 ERA in A+ Jupiter last year in 14 starts. Aper, a 6th round pick in 2013, had been 1 for 17 in Jupiter this year.

Now has a 2.95 ERA in GBoro although with 6 unearned runs and 6 home runs allowed in just 42 2/3 IP. Did well in short time in Batavia last season (2.13 ERA in just over 12 IP).

Michael Mader now with a 2.23 ERA in over 40 IP. He's gone 5+ IP, 1 or less ER in six of his last seven starts. Great season from him thus far.

Naylor having one of his best games. He's been consistently decent in GBoro this year if a little disappointing. If he can get his OPS into the mid .800s at the end of the season I'll be more confident in his abilities facing Jupiter next year.
