Brice 4 BBs. Second time in 6 starts. I'm not ready to buy into the hype that he finally managed to have some control. The thing that I have found interesting is while his K/9 has dropped over a full point, his K% has only dropped a single point (from last year AA numbers). I think my biggest problem is that he is repeating AA this year after a full season there last year and playing in the Arizona fall league; he probably should be in AAA. The organization should also shift him to a reliever as he'll probably never have a starting role in the majors.

That's why K/9 isn't such a good barometer - since he's walking less guys, that's less guys faced per inning, ergo less chances to rack up K's. Bit of the same of why Jose's K/9 is so high this year.

It's still a nice stat though because it's a very obvious and clear thing, much like the other per 9 stats

But yeah I agree. It's mostly a prayer because of how barren our system is rather than an actual belief in him

The Marlins brought back LHP Chipper Smith, who was released by the Orioles in April. He had been with the Marlins organization from 2012-2015.

Ben Holmes not starting anymore is weird. 0.32 ERA in 28 IP this season but it seems the team gave up on him.

Soto still batting over .300 and getting on base at a good rate.

Dillon Peters has allowed just 1 run in four of his six starts this season. All around promising season in Jupiter.

Austin Dean having his best minor league season to date after escaping Jupiter last year. He's been projected as a backup outfielder at the major league level at best but he's continuing to improve.

Hopefully a start to get Jarlin Garcia back on track. He's given up 4 or more runs in three of his last five outings.

Hey look a Justin Twine sighting.

Ya looks like Holmes is being used as the 3/4 inning guy who is too old and good for the league but they keep him around. In other words, not in long term plans but keeps the team in games so he keeps his job

Not only a Twine sighting but they finally realized he is more of a Howie Kendrick 2B type than athletic SS type. He still can't hit but at least he probably won't committed 50 errors. Seymour actually isn't a bad SS prospect. As long as he keeps getting reps

Dean is still a 4th OF for the Fish but for other teams he could be a Starting LF type if he keeps progressing, which means trade bait!!!
