Good to see Cosart have some success. Hopefully he can get straightened out down there. I still think he can be an important part of the pitching staff if he can fix his command.

I'd rather have a solid backup catcher than that. Dyson would be nice in the pen, but we aren't competing and Telis is better to have long term especially when thinking at the time of the trade. We have Realmuto who is not proven and no catching depth at the time of the trade. Realmuto is more proven now, but it still makes sense to keep Telis for awhile. Let him work in the minors til June-July and then bring him up if he's hot. It makes more sense to have Telis than Chris Johnson on the roster right now. Given that catchers take awhile to develop, I'm actually very happy with how Castro played out. I'll risk that happening again for a reliever worse than Sam Dyson. I'd also pick Ege over Dyson when he was at Ege's age any day of the week. That trade makes a lot of sense right now when you give up on 2016 and it did at the deadline. But what return could we have gotten for Ramos or Capps is what we should regret. Or you know any of the obvious things like Kolek.
Not if he continues with a .900 OPS at New Orleans which is my whole point. The point is if we find ourselves in the playoff race he might be one of our better minor league trade pieces since our system is so bad, and to hold on to him just for Catcher depth wouldn't make sense. If we're not in a playoff race, of course you hold on to him.

Ok. I'm just operating under the assumption that we are not a serious contender. If the team is actually leading the wild card race in the middle of July, I'd agree it would make sense to trade him in a win now move.
