Marlins Minor League Transactions last week, from Baseball America:
-RHP Danny Brown was signed. Brown is an UDFA from Flagler College in Florida. He stands 5'10" and 165 pounds. In his senior year this year, he was 9-3 with a 3.68 ERA in 100.1 innings. He gave up 101 hits, with 13 walks and 93 K's. He reported to GCL and pitched one game before their season ended.
-Also signed: RHP Edgar Quinonez. He was released by the Rays organization on August 11. He was 0-1 with a 4.70 ERA with Charlotte at A+ before being released. He tossed 30.2 innings, giving up 36 hits, 12 walks and 20 strikeouts before being cut. He's now on Greensboro's roster.
-Finally, RHP Chuck Weaver was signed out of the Independent Frontier League (the Florence Freedom, to be specific). Weaver was 6-4 with a 3.22 ERA in Florence. He had 27 walks and 95 K's in 109 innings. He's on Batavia's roster.
-RHP Yordy Cabrera was released. He had not played since 2013, when he was an outfielder. Apparently the transition to pitcher didn't take.
-OF Kentrell DeWitt was also released. DeWitt was a 13th round pick in 2010 but never made it higher than Jupiter. He played in only 10 games this year with the Hammerheads, in which he hit .286 with a .748 OPS.
-3B Scott Sizemore, who was released by AAA New Orleans in July, signed with Washington this past week.

Keep Wittgren in AAA forever he sucks boo.
I really like CJ Robinson as a relief option for 2017. Guy keeps the ball on the ground and doesn't walk anybody. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned him before but he's one of the more on the up prospects we have in this trash heap.
Gotta commend Twine a bit for his resurrection. He's still really bad, needs another year in Greensboro and is a looooooooong way from even reaching the next level, but he's finally starting show a little pop in his bat. Now gotta see some consistency (more multi hit games, less swing for the fences).

When I went there they were National Ranked in NAIA so can't be that bad. Looks like they are D2 tho now. No clue how since the school and facilities are small as hellLast edited by tjfla; 09-03-2015, 12:37 PM.
