So other than money there's no reason for Ozuna to be in AAA. Awesome. Something something money redistributed to team something something another starter. Totally need that Cole Gillepsie on the major league squad for the future.

Even with that starter I'd still like to see Urena getting starts in the majors. Don't know if he even feels he has much more left to do in AAA.

I remember really liking Morey when we drafted him in 2010. Him and Conley seemed like good, quick risers who could factor into the future rotation. That hasn't happened, but Morey's having his first good season in the minors since 2012 in Jupiter. His WHIP has sucked his entire career so he's likely not much of a player but it would be cool to see him make the majors at some point, even if it only is for a short period of time.

That's the Austin Brice performance I expected at some point. His BB/K ratio is awesome but he's just somebody that still needs a good deal of work. The good thing with drafting high school kids is that there's a lot of time to grow, and Brice is still just 23 years old. However, he definitely needs a big year in a repeat of Jax next year if he wants to be seen as a serious prospect down the road.

Mader has definitely been frustrating this year. Overall he's been solid but every so often he has a game where he just completely implodes. With a little consistency he would be a fast riser through the system.

Noticed I hadn't seen Romero's name in a bit. Looked up his stats and saw the low .600 OPS. Him and Mason Davis are my two biggest disappointments for the season. Really sucks absolutely nobody broke out in our system this year. If this current major league squad can't make things work, there isn't much of anything to look forward to in the minors.

You realize how fucking terrible Ozuna was when he got sent down right? Money aside, there's nothing wrong with sending him down for a month to get his shit together.

Yeah, I think this is about his confidence/correcting some flaws and not money. Another week or two worth of good at bats and he'll be back.

He must of been injured for most of June but he's had a .995 OPS in 55 ABs since returning. He has a k% of 50% in this time frame too. All in AA.

Jarred Cosart had a quick leash in Triple-A, against Triple-A players. Jeez, he's crashing hard.

RotoWire News: Cosart's vertigo symptoms returned Friday, cutting his start for Triple-A New Orleans short after 1.1 innings, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports. (7/17/2015)

Marlins-related Minor League Transactions, from the 9th-17th, c/o Baseball America:

-The Braves signed P Vin Mazzaro, who elected free agency from the Fish on June 28.
-The White Sox organization released former Marlins closer Matt Lindstrom.

-Among the three players the Marlins signed for minor league depth were P Jonaiker Villalobos (who I could find nothing about).
-Also signed was 2B James Roberts, who was released by the Indians on June 18th. Roberts was a 15th round pick by Cleveland in 2013. He hit .228 with a .562 OPS in 149 ABs at High-A this year before being let go. Roberts is now in Jupiter.
-OF Eudy Pina was signed after he was cut by the Mets on July 14. Pina was hitting .305 with a .730 OPS in AA Binghamton this year. He had 226 ABs with seven walks and 57 strikeouts. Pina is assigned to Jacksonville.

                              As for the releases:

-P Connor Overton. A 15th round pick in 2014, Overton compiled a 13.03 ERA in eight games with Greensboro this year. 9.2 innings, 24 hits, 14 ER, 5 walks, 7 strikeouts was his 2015 line.
-P Francisco Aquino. Had not pitched this year after spending the past two seasons in the Gulf Coast League.
-P Felix Ramos. He had been in the Marlins organization since 2011, reaching as high as Jupiter this year. Has only pitched a total of 19 games the past two seasons, putting up an 8+ ERA in both 2014 and 2015.
