Good to see Robert Morey have another decent start, I've always rooted for him for some reason and it would be cool if he could turn into anything at all. Also no idea why Zack Cox is still in AA so Scott Siezmore and Juan Diaz can continue to get at bats in AAA.

Cox is filler now plus someone has to be able to hit for us in AA

That J Fernandez guy is awful. He'll never make it above A+ ball.

Also, after all the positives I had about Holmes and he does that. F*ck him he's dead to me.

I'm starting to get mildly hype for Flores. He's been nothing but amazing this season (1.90 ERA) and he looked good in his very very very short major league stint. Flores and Urena are probably the two pitching prospects left that I think have at being long term pieces (Nicolino obviously, but I can't predict him anymore).

So that's Kolek's third outing this season of 5 inning and no ER. The big thing for him to build is consistency. He's super young and Gboro can be difficult on some pitchers so its fine, but if he wants to be the top top prospect he was drafted at he needs to start striking out hitters at a higher ratio. With a 97+ fastball he needs to average 9 K's per 9 IP. Again no worries given how young he is. Rodon would be so nice in the majors right now, but he has no effect on Kolek's progression as a prospect, which is going along decently right now. Not everybody can be Jose Fernandez from the get go.

                      - - - - - - - - - -

Wittgren now with a 1.88 ERA on the season. He's allowed just 5 walks in almost 29 IP. It's literally any day until his call up. That dominant season he had in Jupiter mixed with his dominance in New Orleans this year have me incredibly hyped about his potential in the 'pen. If Cishek has to go, Wittgren immediately jumps up into the discussion for long term future closer along with Ramos and Capps.

I actually love this idea of Wittgren as closer. It allows you to get 3 years of a closer super cheap and then ditch him in year 4 when he gets some money. Ramos is closer now though and they'll probably keep him too long just like they did with Cishek.

I could care less about how Kolek's lines look and only care about him working on secondary pitches, but I don't know where those stats are available so scouting reports are more of what I'm looking to see on him. But the guy has a 15.7% K-rate which is awful for him. I mean Nicolino had a 23-24% K-rate in A-ball.

Nicolino was a more "polished" prospect. I'll worry about his lack of strikeouts if he struggles down the road.

Wittgren getting some love on this site? Amazing. The plan was to trade Cishek(Not non tender) and either Ramsey or Wittgren would close next year. I mentioned that was the FO idea and the idea was shit on by pretty much everyone.

Wittgren probably is now the closer of the future since Matt Ramsey has fallen into a wormhole(If anyone knows why he has been out since March 17 please inform us) but Wittgren would still be in AA if not for that.

We actually have 3 guys who could close-Capps,Wittgren and Ramsey(if he comes back)

I do know 2 things about Wittgren tho-He loves cute baby animal pics and he looks like a 1980's closer. 1 ugly dude!!!

Call me old fashioned, but I am disappointed that the #2 overall is a "project." I think it's fine to be worried about his lack of production thus far.
