Junior pitcher Keith Zuniga informed Bethune-Cookman on Monday that he is returning to the Wildcats for next season, B-CU coach Jason Beverlin said.

Zuniga was one of three B-CU pitchers selected in the MLB draft on Saturday. The Miami Marlins selected Zuniga in the 35th round. Zuniga announced on Facebook that he will return to B-CU for his senior season.

“That’s good news for us for sure,” Beverlin said of the Wildcats’ No. 2 starter last season. “(The Marlins) were in contact with him. He came in (Monday) and told us he was coming back.”

Zuniga, a transfer from Pima Community College in Arizona, was 8-4 with a 2.74 ERA as the Wildcats’ No. 2 starter this season. He walked just 19 batters in 100 innings.
