Like I said the kid needed a better advisor, got $162,000 could have easily got more. He should be ranked higher however he doesn't have the "name" like the others which BA seems to use. Nice prospect tho and could destroy GBoro next year
Dan (Towson): What's the scouting take on Stone Garrett? Saw him a few times and he seemed to make really hard contact and have premium athleticism, also put up a noisy stat line. What prevents him from ranking higher? Concerns about the swing being too long?
Michael Lananna: There's no doubt that this was an encouraging summer for Garrett after a not-so-great debut last year. With his bat speed and raw power—not to mention his thick, chiseled frame—his ceiling is very high as a hitter. But the approach for him is still raw. Still too many strikeouts, and he still can be pitched to. There's a lot more for him to learn and absorb, but you're right: You can dream on his athleticism and his bat. I think this summer was a big step forward for him, and he could certainly creep higher on these lists if he continues to capitalize on his talents.
