Trevor Williams is impressive. He has lowered his season ERA to 2.36 and has a 1.79 ERA in his last 10 starts. He, in my eyes, is moving up the pitching depth chart. I wonder what his ceiling is.

I think hitters are batting something like .280 against Williams.

Don't get me wrong I love seeing Williams go deep into starts and not allow too many runs, but it seems like he's living on the edge right now since he's still giving up hits and not striking too many people out. He's a lot more exciting prospect than I expected when we drafted him (his numbers seemed relatively mediocre at ASU for a second round pick) but it's nice that we can throw him into that group of Conley/Nicolino/Flynn/Urena/Desclafani/etc... in trying to figure out potential #4/5 starters for the future since I still view Fernandez/Heaney/Alvarez/Eovaldi as the obvious 1-4.

Chad Wallach has been unbelievably good at Greensboro. Yes 22 year old in A ball, but I like when guys trashed for being picked by everyone end up being at least halfway useful.

Austin Barnes has struggled in his short time in AA. Nothing to really worry about though. It's also huge to see Moran hitting finally at Jupiter. Still got a ways to go to be a respectable hitter at that level, but two extra base hits in a game is a good start. Colby Suggs continues to be bleh.

And Ryan Newell now sporting a 2.48 ERA. Nice to add another pitcher to the list of guys doing well for us.

.268 currently, but that's because hitters hit .325 against him in April. That has gone down dramatically in May (.240) and June (.208).

Dietrich will get traded soon for a reliever because Loria doesn't like him. I've already accepted this.

Mark Canha continues to put up solid season after solid season in the minors. .851 OPS in AAA this year. I still firmly believe he could be a solid bench bat/utility man at the major league level but at 25 years old he could easily become a forgotten bat soon enough. He's a guy who really needs a breakout stretch similar to what Bour did to force the front office's hand. I'm not saying he deserves a call up, but I feel he's been one of the most underrated bats in our minor league system for a while now. His numbers look a lot more impressive if you imagine him as a 3rd baseman or outfielder, both positions he's played in the minors (he's actually played mostly outfield this year).

Great start from Desclafani. I actually think the Marlins handled his situation well. Gave him a taste of the majors, let him refine his stuff in the minors for the rest of the year and let him fight for a rotation spot in spring training next year after the inevitable Koehler fall from grace.

Colin Moran is slowly but surely heating up. While the power isn't there still, he's been hitting more consistently. Maybe he's one of those "guys who heats up later in the season" similar to what Stanton was in the minors. I haven't given up on him yet, and his projection still seems to put him as the Marlins starting 3rd baseman by 2016 imo.

Avery Romero is now hitting .323 with an even .800 OPS. I've got high hopes for Romero in the same manner that I had high hopes for Realmuto when we drafted him. I'm hoping that three years from now Romero could be the guy to finally convince this front office to stop starting Hechavarria (although we all know Hech will be with this team until 2030 at least).

EDIT: Should add that I feel like Furcal has done well enough in Jacksonville, although as a former star SS I guess it shouldn't be a huge deal how he's hitting in a AA rehab start. While I would've been upset with Furcal taking bats away from Dietrich, Furcal coming up and starting over Lucas/Solano really doesn't upset me as much.
