Eden was ranked the No. 70 prospect in the draft by Baseball America and No. 82 by MLB.com.

Eden made it very clear to scouts that he intends to pursue college baseball, thus he wasn't drafted as high as projected.

The 6-foot-2, 165-pound righty, who will turn 18 in August, said he wasn't ready to play professional baseball at this point in his life. He feels going to Oregon State will help him grow to be more physically and mentally mature.

"That's a great compliment that the Marlins drafted me even though they know I'm going to school," Eden said. "I'm very humbled by that."
