Off-Season Minor League Signings

The Marlins have signed infielder Kevin Kouzmanoff and right-handed pitcher Jordan Smith to minor league contracts with invitations to Spring Training.

I know Smith from when he was with the Reds. Hard thrower, but has never really put it all together. Could be a good pickup for the bullpen.

The Marlins signed another former Red, this time infielder Chris Valaika.

Marlins signed INF Chris Valaika to a minor league contract.
Valaika spent all of 2012 at Triple-A with the Reds, batting a paltry .219/.265/.349. He'll provide organizational depth in Miami.
