Some outstanding pitching performances to note ... particularly from guys who have labored quietly this season. Jeff Lingren was a a 24th rounder in 2019 and tossed a gem for Pensacola. Jake Walters threw a strong six innings for Jupiter. He was a ninth rounder in 2018. And Joey Steele was lights out over 2.2 for Jupiter in relief - with seven K's while facing just eight batters. He was a 30th rounder in 2018. These late season performances are of special note because they show significant progress for pitchers who missed all of last season.

I dont know why milb.com doesnt include the FCL games in the list of games when you sort by organization. Some notable performances there so far- Jose Salas has been really good. Yidde Cappe has been ok and so has ian lewis.

Eury Perez promoted to Beloit. I will be tuned into his debut for sure. Turned 18 4 months ago.

awesome. Mish says he is the youngest player in all of high A. Have to imagine he lands on top 100 lists in the offseason.

Dax Fulton also to Beloit. Fun Times.

Fun time to follow minor league pitching ... that's about it from a Marlin perspective. I suspect that both young pitchers will take some lumps at Beloit in their first few starts.

ya dax fulton especially will likely struggle the rest of the year in Beloit and then make adjustments in the offseason and come back and be promoted to AA by mid-late next year. Eury perez might just be a phenom but at least i think he will have an opportunity to have better success from the start because he's so damn tall and has the ridiculous velocity. he might be tough to pick up even at a new level at such a young age.

I think we have 9 legit pitching prospects currently in the rotations of Beloit and Pensacola alone.

And if four of them become big league rotation arms, we're looking pretty good in that part of the game.

We have Rogers, Pablo, and Sandy already at the major league level. Essentially we need to have done really badly on these 9 guys to not have a fucking amazing rotation for a while. Plus sixto to me isn't a concern as far as ability, he just needs to be healthy. We all saw what he could do. I think this season turns out a lot differently if he doesn't get hurt. The last 2 spots in the rotation plus the injuries to him and elieser really fucked up our ability to go on any kind of sustained streak.

Injuries to Sixton and Cabrera stung as well.

Eddy Alvarez is back on the field for the Jumbos. For the last two years I have campaigned for him to be the Marlins utility guy (great fielder, tremendous base runner and switch hitter). In his first post Olympic game, 3-R homer off Chris Archer from the left side and a line drive RBI single from the right (off our old friend Brian Moran).
