Truly epic night for the farm system. HRs for J Sanchez, Bookends Conine and Burdick, Bleday, Encarnacion, and Misner. Multiple hits for future star second baseman C Morissette, L Diaz, Troy Johnston, and hot Hotstetler. Just another brilliant outing for Dax Fulton. 7 shutout innings from Velez. 5 out of six great innings for Meyer. Touchdown Tommy Eveld was great in relief. geemoney will smile when he compiles the stats tonight!.

If you were forced to come up with a rotation from the farm that would serve Miami for the next six years, you could do a lot worse than Cabrera, Eder, Meyer, Nicolas, Perez, Fulton, MDJohnson, George Soriano and Antonio Velez. In fact, that might be the best group in baseball (and easily rival/surpass Lopez, Rogers, Alcantara, Hernandez, Sixton, Thompson, Garrett, Neidert and Poteet.)

A lot to be excited about from last night. Here is my ranking:

            1. Dax Fulton, really the one draft pick from 2020 that it was hard to get excited about what he'd done so far in 2021. Reports are that he's finally completely back from TJ surgery physically, and it's translated to absolute dominance the last 2 outings. 10 innings 2 hits 0 Runs 18 Ks 0 BBs in his last 2 outings. Watching him and Eury Perez traverse our minor league system together is going to be lots of fun.
            2. Jesus Sanchez back, and immediately crushing AAA again. I'd really love to see him take his game to the next level at the big league level when he returns, I can see it happening.
            3. Max Meyer should probably be moved up to AAA, nothing more to prove in AA, get him as ready as possible to contribute in 2022.
            4. Homers: Burdick, Bleday, Conine, Encarnacion, Misner all going deep. I just happened to have tuned into the Beloit game on milb.tv for Misner's homer, an absolute bomb into the river at Quad Cities.
            5. Early returns on 2021 college hitters has been pretty good. Tanner Allen off to a slow start, but Morrissette and Hostetler have been fantasic. That Jupiter team is formidable now.
            6. Antonio Velez has gone 29 innings in his last 4 starts and given up a total of 3 runs. To see a guy consistently go way deep into games is so rare in the minor leagues. Should take Meyer's spot in AA if they move him up like I suggested.
            7. Fortes has been quite good at AAA, if Jackson can't get the K's under control, it may be worth giving Fortes a look before the year's out.
            8. Lewin Diaz looks big league ready, but not sure how you work him in there.

Fulton looking like another steal. I never understood why guys with TJ fall quite so much when they are first round talents. if anything it gets the TJ out of the way which seems inevitable for so many guys.

So good to see jesus sanchez back. Cant wait to see him in the lineup everyday to end the year along with brinson. Just get those 2 as many ab's as possible.

I dont think you could have asked for a better night in AA. That lineup is a monster now, especially with Jerar back. Completely agree on meyer, if they dont want to bring him to the big leagues, promote him and Eder to AAA. They have nothing left to prove.

Id bring fortes and Lewin up and DFA leon and Sierra. Fortes has earned his shot and lewin has nothing left to prove in AAA.

Lewin has nothing left to prove in AAA.

Actually, he has to prove he can hit better than .245 at AAA or he won't be of any help in Miami.

i dont think its possible to have a better week from the AA squad all around.

Also Kam Misner looks like a player.

Hitting .262 with an OPS of .938 since June 1st in his first go around at AAA. He's never going to be a .300 hitter.

Pitching showcases tonight. Neidert and Cabrera get starts in DH for JAX vs. weak opposition. Hot MD Johnson goes for Beloit vs. best team in their league. Looks like Perez will be held back until tomorrow night for Jupiter, giving him a full week's rest.

misner's potential really intrigues me. That stolen base effectiveness combined with good D in CF and not spectacular power but he's not a slap hitter. He has a really good chance at being our leadoff man long term. Very interested to see how the OF plays out the next 2-3 years.

He has tremendous power. It's just about translating it to home runs. He's a specimen, he towers over guys like Burdick and Bleday. We knew he was going to be a work in progress when we drafted him, and I think the lost Covid season probably hurt him as much as anybody, but maybe he's starting to put it together.
