Solorzano, the Miami Marlins 10th overall prospect according to Marlins.com is second in the New York-Penn League in home runs with eight. He is batting .275 on the season with 23 RBI's and five stolen bases. Solorzano has split time playing all three of the outfield positions for the Jamestown Jammers. He is hitting .316 with runners in scoring position and currently possess an OPS of .810. He also leads the Jammers in RBI's, total bases with 72, and slugging percentage (.483). This is his first season in the New York-Penn League, having spent last season with the Gulf Coast Marlins. This is his second career All-Star selection, last season Solorzano was named as a Gulf Coast League Post-Season All-Star.

Jesus Solorzano is another young prospect out of the Miami Marlins organization. Solorzano spent the 2012 season in the New York-Penn League with the Jamestown Jammers this season. Solorzano is currently ranked as the 14th best prospect in the Marlins organization by MLB.com, No .7 by Baseball Prospectus and No. 16 by Baseball America. Needless to say, Solorzano is on the fast track to the top of the Marlins team.

The 2012 season was not such a bad one for Solorzano. In 59 games for the Jammers, he batted .314/.374/.519/.894. He was 66-for-214 with eight homers and 27 RBI. It does not seem like Solorzano can produce a ton of power as he looks more like a contact hitter. He recorded 13 doubles, eight triples and crossed the plate for the Jammers 36 times. He finished in the top 10 of the league in batting average.

It is safe to say that Solorzano may be the guy to roam the outfield at Marlins Park for some time. He is described to be a five-tool player. He can hit well, run well and he’s smart around the base paths. He also has an outstanding arm which could make him the right fielder of the future. The hope for Solorzano right now, barring any injury to him, is that he will be a dynamic player once he hits the big leagues.

Solorzano is only 22-years-old and may not see playing time in the majors until 2015 with the way the Marlins outfield is built right now. It looks like he will be better than Logan Morrison though and may be a nicer lead off hitter than Emilio Bonifacio at one point in his career.
