Some new names in the organization per Baseball America:

RHP Jason Alexander reached AAA with the Angels in 2019 but sported an ERA north of 9.00 in 50 innings. He's stationed in Pensacola for now.
RHP Josh A. Smith, who pitched 26 innings with Miami last year before becoming a free agent, re-signed with the Marlins and was assigned to AAA Jacksonville.
LHP Jefry Yan is a 24 year-old who last pitched in 2015 with the DSL Angels.
SS Ricky Aracena has already made a splash in Beloit. He's a 23 year-old former member of the Royals organization.
SS Connor Justus was a 5th round pick of the Angels in 2016. He's playing for AA Pensacola; in 2019, he hit just .184 in 347 at-bats at the AA level.

Interesting night. McCambley with the perfecto over seven innings!

I assume Jesus Sanchez will be called up to the big league team tomorrow. He was removed from tonight's game after still another homer.

Connor Scott seems ready for a quick promotion to Pensacola. He would take over for the abysmal VVMesa ... although Bleday and Burdick have been awful as well.

Meyer getting bombed was a surprise. I hope Eder does a better job of maintaining form tomorrow night.

Eury Perez could be really good.

The most alarming thing with Bleday is his BABIP is over .300.
        Amy Adams, AKA Cinnamon Muff
Logan Morrison: "If baseball didn't exist, I would probably be ... like a curler. Or a hairstylist."
        Noah Perio
        Jupiter
        39 AB
        15 H
        0 2B
        0 3B
        0 HR
        0 BB
        .385/.385/.385

I watched a couple innings of Meyer. Could not locate his nasty slider for a strike, so he was basically challenging guys with the fastball exclusively and got hit.

Definitely a name to watch. 6'9" 200 lbs, just turned 18, already touching mid-90s.

6’9 200 lbs is rail thin. That’s manute bol territory. The fact that he is already touching mid 90s puts him into serious prospect potential.

He just turned 18, so I think 200 lbs sounds about right to me. I think I'd be worried if he didn't have a lot of room to put on weight.

ya I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with that, just that he has a ton of room to fill out and he will have a upper 90s fastball soon enough.

Our catching depth is so pitiful it's scary. Banfield just cant hit so best case scenario is he is jeff mathis which is even pushing it because mathis was putting up better numbers in the big leagues than banfield ever has. We're either gonna need to trade for a catcher or convert one of the OF's into a Catcher like we did with Josh Willingham back in the day (who btw doesn't get enough credit for how fucking solid he was)

jesus sanchez out of the lineup again today after exiting yesterday due to "precautionary reasons" which seems pretty clearly like he hurt something going 1st to home on monte's triple. Hopefully super minor cause he is on such a tear.

nasim nunez will be a really good starting caliber leadoff type guy if the hit tool pans out. Doesnt even need much power. He is electric defensively and from all indications in his brief minor league career, when he gets on he is going to steal and he is going to be successful. He is 38/42 in his career thus far and has great plate discipline with a 55/42 K/BB ratio as well. If he can just get the strength to become a monster with balls hit in the gap he is going to be a stud.

and who knows if burgos becomes anything but the fact we were able to get him for a nothing guy in Austin dean is a pretty good value for a guy we were gonna get rid of regardless and who had no place in the organization.
