MIAMI -- Marlins Minor League first baseman Adam Kam has been suspended for 50 games for violating baseball's substance abuse policy.
A 50th-round pick in 2009 from Parkland, Fla., Kam is currently on the Marlins Gulf Coast League roster. He received the suspension for violating the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
The suspension begins at the start of the 2010 season.
Kam, 18, is a left-handed hitting, right-handed throwing first baseman. He appeared in two games and had one at-bat in the Gulf Coast League last year.
Considering he wasnt going to be anywhere but the GCL or Jamestown this year, does that mean his suspension applies to those teams or will it be up by the time those seasons start.
